superstande: on happier note: found a lovely holiday present for my mum, sent it through amazon.co.uk to her gift wrapped. I hope she'll like it.

oh and good morning all! hope things will go better for you all and the rest of the world!
Good morning, Sup. Are you gonna tell us what the present is? :-)
Good moaning.

I woke up, switched on the TV and saw the numbers.
First thing I thought was about how traumatized children who grow up to be bat-themed vigilantes would have acted in such a situation.
Sometimes I almost wish they existed for real.
Then I thought about the number of broken bones and torn ligaments a human body can suffer from before it becomes life threatening and the pain such injuries would cause.
It was a comforting thought.
-----
Onto slightly less grim thoughts. Like the limp fizzing out of the sale.
I think I'll go with X. But I'm open to suggestions.

Empress_Owl: Morning everybody... hope you are doing good...
Thanks. Looks like two people have already asked you, so I won't do it a third time ;-p
Just have the **Biggest hug of all time**

ddickinson: *big comforting hug*

How are you holding up, lovely Owl?
Hey, lovely DD **tired hug**
I'm 'alive'... still shocked, and sad. 128 dead and over 250 hurt people, in 7 different spots.... Is it war ?... How many are they ? Where are they ?... and what will our governments do, this time ? ... :-( **sigh**

ddickinson: *Take a big run up, all the way from the Canadian border to Agent.*

*Starts to run towards Agent and kick him…*

I will update you when I finally make it all the way to Moomin Valley. It is a long way to run from the Canadian border. :-)

I'll be waiting here... OH! Could you get me some authentic Canadian maple syrup while you are there?

CarrionCrow: True, it'd only work to a point. Humans are a combo of both self-destructive and destructive in general.
In the end, laws won't work either. It's just another mess that will have to come to a head, then be dealt with more conclusively.

I hope so too. Very happy to hear that your partner had such a good time. =)
I think we are getting better, but we can't just instantly remove our more primitive cultures. But then can we ever? There are lots of kind and lovely people, despite all the animals. But I think that has always been the case. It seems some of us can progress from the cave men we started out as, but there are still many that keep those tendencies and decide to act like the animals we used to be, or rather the animals we are and are trying to change. A good start would be for the laws and politicians to stop pretending we all live in a utopia and make laws that are relevant, not just weak laws to please the vocal minority who behave like hippies with their heads in the clouds, unaware of how things really work.

Thank you. I should know in a few days if this health stuff is going away, which I really hope it will as neither the doctors nor myself if I am honest think I can deal with another big set back. I have already had two which nearly killed me in the last few months and I am not sure my body can cope with a third one.

Alright, just home with wife. Was agitated & annoyed & a bit mad over what happened... now settling into a normal saturday routine, might go for a walk and a coffee somewhere.

It is indeed very shocking.

Perhaps it should be a war, perhaps we should finally do what is needed to stop it all. But I fear in this politically correct world people are too scared to challenge certain things due to how they will be perceived. Something needs to be done, Europe has allowed this to go on for too long, allowed these kind of people to behave like animals and get the rights of the people limited while the same kind of cowardly people who carry out such attacks seem to get more rights and protection. A more firm approach will be needed for anything to stop, one that will no doubt be unpopular, but that will be needed.

You know where I am if you want to yell, rant, scream, or talk.

Of course I can, unless I get tired and just go home and get another Moomin to come kick you in the stomach. In that case I will keep the Canadian maple syrup for some pancakes.

I think many people are angry about it, if not just about the horrible incident but the whole circumstance that has allowed it to happen and the kind of people who carried out the horrible killings. I hope you and your wife have a lovely day, as normal as you can. A walk sounds nice. How is the weather there?

Sad, of course. Having a stomach problem that has me worried as well... Other than that, I'm okay. 5.6.

Odd... my paper JJG has completely vanished ô__ô

sure if you are curious ;)
"Mackie's Soup Classics Cream of Mushroom Soup Mug" - says the title. comes with a mushroom soup recipe. don't know who Clare Mackie is but supposedly an award-winning lady. And my mother's a professional mushroom picker ;) after her retirement at least.

I agree... do you think we are ready for another world war ?
A firm approach wouldn't be so unpopular, thinking there are more and more scared, angry and hurt people who gently slide to xenophobia here... i wouldn't be surprised if we have an extremist right fool for president next time...
