I thought we were Sunday !... since today was a day off... is this armistice day also a day off in other countries ?...
**Good night hugs all around** :) See you tomorrow !! Have a nice day/evening/night !

akhliber: Blackguards got a lot of negative reviews, but I quite liked it. Mind you, I did read a few guides about how to build a character (and make sense of the Dark Eye system.)

Oh, and hi, peeps.
*tosses a smoke bomb, then scurries off into the shadows*
Figure I'll give it a shot. Used to different RPG's, so the ruleset shouldn't pose too much of a learning curve.

(There are a lot of ninjas around here...)

-laughs- It's not quite Sunday yet.

Have a good night. =)

No day off here, although the 11th is a day where we pay respect to the soldiers who died. We also do this on the Sunday closet to the 11th which we call Remembrance Sunday.

Goodnight, lovely Owl! Sleep tight and pleasant dreams!

*big goodnight hugs*

Stilton: Which actually makes it something pretty great to look forward to. Tons of mind-places to go is pretty healthy in my opinion, and a necessity these days.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Indeed. There are plenty of things to try, from every genre possible.

The only question is, which series to check out first?

(Actually, I have an idea on that one. Braveland might be paper-thin as a series, but it seemed to have sparked an interest in more in-depth turn-based strategy RPG-type games. That leads to King's Bounty (typed Quest in at first, but that's a point-and-click), Blackguards and Heroes of Might and Magic.)
That choosing reminds me of something. The thing which brought me to GOG initially was an interest in all of the old stuff, which in turn has made me a lot more aware of game history. Your remark above is a part of why my own collection looks a bit like a half-built zeppelin at the moment (thin point at the start, rapidly swelling body further along...). Its that interest and pleasure in seeing how things connect and what kind of artistry, intelligence and good ideas people put in their games. It follows then that collecting a large number of games is inevitable and that it doesn't really matter how many games a person has, or how many of those can be called good or bad games. Ultimately its irrelevant. The reason why the excitement comes at the beginning of a sale, and even when a sale turns into a 'stale' and we're hanging around on the off-chance of a surprise or two, is because of the high we get at adding something else to the collection and trying it out. Something which belongs to the gaming history we find so appealing. This, at least, is how I feel about it.

Caveat: it is pretty early in the morning here, so I could just be living on cloudy imaginings and talking out of my arse (it wouldn't be the first time).

Good night, everyone. I finally got my finishing touches done and have everything set for the morning, so I will be getting some sleep. I hope you all have a lovely day, and a good night's sleep when you visit the land of Nod.

*goodnight hugs*

I don't think you can talk out of your ass when it comes to personal motivation and enjoyment.
That's what works for you, that's what you get out of it all. No one can tell you that's the wrong way to process everything.

Have a great day tomorrow, DD! And sleep well :-)
I think the commercials in the videos I'm watching are having the wrong effect.

Rather than wanting to buy things, I just yell shut up at the screen and mute everything til they're over.

A bit of George should help you get through that...

Perfectly stated. And that is why (besides the whole yelling at the screen thing, which gets tiresome) I mute it all.

Additional - Playing a game called Aban Hawkins and the 1,001 Spikes. It's yet another one of those rip your hair out-level difficulty platformers.
But the funny thing is, platformers have to try a whole lot harder to piss me off post-Super Meat Boy. I actually reached a state of quasi-nirvana playing that thing, a point past not only fury, but beyond nearly all human emotion in general.

I have seen Cotton Alley, and I have beaten it. This has nothing by comparison.

Stilton: I doubt anyone reads everything here.
I think you are wrong ;-)

ddickinson: That is a same, but I understand. I also want to get some D&D stuff for Soccorro and one of the three games on Moons wishlist. I was hoping something of hers would have appeared, but no luck so far. Not that it is a big problem, I will just get her one at random at full price as I really would like to get her a little something.
I object to getting stuff at full price!

I object to your wishlist being private! -laughs- ;)

That looks painful but good. I take it you're playing it on Steam? Any idea if its DRM free anywhere?

Well, there are one or two lurkers about, I suppose... :-)

That is a very small list, lady. Add more stuff to it! ;P

Not seeing it anywhere else, unfortunately. And if you ever decide to go rental, I'd have to suggest Super Meat Boy first and foremost.
