No day off here, although the 11th is a day where we pay respect to the soldiers who died. We also do this on the Sunday closet to the 11th which we call Remembrance Sunday.

That choosing reminds me of something. The thing which brought me to GOG initially was an interest in all of the old stuff, which in turn has made me a lot more aware of game history. Your remark above is a part of why my own collection looks a bit like a half-built zeppelin at the moment (thin point at the start, rapidly swelling body further along...). Its that interest and pleasure in seeing how things connect and what kind of artistry, intelligence and good ideas people put in their games. It follows then that collecting a large number of games is inevitable and that it doesn't really matter how many games a person has, or how many of those can be called good or bad games. Ultimately its irrelevant. The reason why the excitement comes at the beginning of a sale, and even when a sale turns into a 'stale' and we're hanging around on the off-chance of a surprise or two, is because of the high we get at adding something else to the collection and trying it out. Something which belongs to the gaming history we find so appealing. This, at least, is how I feel about it.

Caveat: it is pretty early in the morning here, so I could just be living on cloudy imaginings and talking out of my arse (it wouldn't be the first time).

I think the commercials in the videos I'm watching are having the wrong effect.

Perfectly stated. And that is why (besides the whole yelling at the screen thing, which gets tiresome) I mute it all.

Additional - Playing a game called Aban Hawkins and the 1,001 Spikes. It's yet another one of those rip your hair out-level difficulty platformers.
But the funny thing is, platformers have to try a whole lot harder to piss me off post-Super Meat Boy. I actually reached a state of quasi-nirvana playing that thing, a point past not only fury, but beyond nearly all human emotion in general.

I have seen Cotton Alley, and I have beaten it. This has nothing by comparison.
