AgentBirdnest: Starting to feel like Winnie the Pooh... meets Hannibal. Ah, there we go :-)
So if that is you, why are you not wearing any pants? :-)
You know, a mechanic that really should be mandatory for RPGs or any other dialogue/story heavy games...a in-game index that keeps track of who you've talked to, their location, what they said, quests they've given you, and faction/relationship status (if any).

ddickinson: So you are finally at over 1,000 games? That is some feat. I think I have a long way to go before I can say that, even if I include all the old physical games I own. If you keep this up you might get one of those t-shirts they gave away. :-)

GOG sales are often a strange thing, but maybe for newer customers it is different. I imagine seeing all those great games, both old and new, is exciting for them.

I tend to agree. Luckily we live far away from them and closer to my family, who have been nothing but supportive and happy for us. I actually only tend to call her my partner to people on here or people who I meet who don't know about us being in a relationship. I just find it easier as you never know how people will react as some people are jerks about such things. On here I kept it to just partner as that is what I was used to saying. (I wrote a lot more but I removed it as I was just rambling.)
It's only taken about 25 months...

Doubtful. Other people have me beaten by far. I've got less than 50 list entries left, while some people actively try to have the entire catalog and keep up with that.

They are. The first Insomnia was insane. Ended up buying like crazy since I had next to nothing at the time. Not quite the same thing now, where every 12 hour list cycle shows that I have between 75 and 95 percent of all items.

Makes sense. Who wants random people shoving their nose in your life. It's a rude, inconsiderate, selfish and stupid thing to do, but plenty of people do it anyway.

Still 4 more minutes of your birthday, and I forgot to sing you the birthday song.

"Happy birthday to you, you belong in a zoo, you act like a monkey, and you look like one to." :-)

Are you aiming to own all games, or are there some games you definitely won't be buying?

The first few sales when you are new here are quite fun, especially for nostalgia and seeing all those older games. I often wonder why they don't mix this type of sale with an insomnia element as well. They could just do one game at a time in insomnia format mixed in with the other 12 hour games. But maybe that would be too hard to implement at the same time.

Because I'm AgentBirdnest :-)

Is that a valid excuse? I thought it was maybe due to you wanting to be French and imagining you were at one of their nudist beaches. :-)

No, I'm not. I think that approach is a trap. The only way to ever be satisfied in that scenario is if GOG goes out of business. Otherwise it's just running on the hamster wheel with no conclusion.

I've wondered that myself. Posted a wish for that exact kind of format, ended up with a lot of people commenting that GOG wouldn't be able to pull it off.
Personally, I wouldn't mind the option of picking one sale type or the other. Some people could have their slow sale, while the Insomnia side would already be concluded.

I can see how the insomnia format would be taxing for the site, given how many people would be constantly refreshing the page, so that might cause problems alongside the regular sale format. I think this current one is better on the whole, as there are more chances to get a game you missed. But Insomnia is often more fun as there is that element suspense. But given how some of the insomnia sales stalled for a long time, I imagine the current format is a lot more profitable for GOG, which is why they do these over the older insomnia format sales.

And now I am annoyed that I missed the extra "o" on the "to" at the end. Oh well, I have been making lots of errors all night due to me being over tired. :-)

*big no longer your birthday hug*

Then all you will have to do is explain to the ladies why your hands are stuck in a giant treacle jar and why you are wearing a hannibal mask. :-)

The Insomnia format can still be refined. Like you said, the lulls aren't good for profitability.

On the other hand, getting the feeling a lot of people aren't spending since they're waiting to see what the new bundles are. No one wants to spend money, use up their budget, then see a game that they've been waiting for show up.
