Stilton: Peanut butter is comfortably interactive. You could fill a bath with the stuff and just sort of, sl-i-i-i-de into it.

I think that was my random thought of the day.

Hi, Agent :-) Its good to be back. What book might you delve into?
avatar
AgentBirdnest: Hum... an interesting thought, for sure. I'd smell like peanut butter for months... Ladies like that smell, right? :-p

"The Last Full Measure". Part of a trilogy about the American civil war. I got it as a gift from my sis a few years ago, and got a couple chapters in before packing it into a box and moving to a new town. I didn't unpack that box until two months ago. Figure I should finally start it over, and finish it this time :-)
There are some comic books that are just as good as books include Maus,Watchmen,V of Vendetta,Daredevil:Born Again,Dark Knight Returns, Saga of the Swamp Thing,Sandman,The Killing Joke...

A very interesting subject, so it sounds like a worthwhile read. I've got a stack of WW2 books I want to read, varying from the reasonably accessible to the Jeez, this author's supposed to be English. But I like the toil, so I'll get them all done at some point.

And in my experience, ladies LOVE the smell of peanut butter, especially if its troweled on all over. :-) (don't ask)

Hm... Never really been into comics. With the exception of my compilation books of Calvin & Hobbes :-p

The author of this book (Jeff Shaara) actually wrote a WW2 trilogy as well recently. I might dive into that once I finish with this one. I like his style.

Huh... I'm almost insane enough to ask, but I wont n__<

...
Well... There is a hill outside that is not going to climb itself. And a lazy Agent that could use a bit of exercise. *Using all my courage to get off my arse* ... Be back at some point in the future. Maybe tonight. Maybe not until Moonday. In any case, hope everyone has a lovely day :-)

Was there a large sheet of plastic involved?

Watchmen got a Hugo Award, back when comic books were still considered kiddy things and not worthy of being considered in the same category as the "serious stuff".
It's that good.

Have a good climb, be careful not to fall on said arse. :-)

l0rdtr3k: I recommend Dune.
I've read Dune.
I don't recommend it.

Yes, and a couple of midgets... (don't ask)

An interesting thing all of those have in common. They were all written in the 80's.

If it exists, it's someone's fetish. I won't ask about yours and you won't ask about mine.

Something to hum while you climb. :-)

That's probably why mine didn't work out.
No midgets.

Stilton: Hi all, how is everyone?

I've caught up with some sleep and feel almost human again.
Tanking up on morning drugs. Soon as I get the shards of whatever's trying to lacerate my eyeballs out, I should be good to go.

Also, it's funny you mention that. I slept, so now I'm back to feeling slightly inhuman. (A steady 65 percent or so can still be called slightly, can't it...?)

There are many things that mark out Watchmen as one of the best comic book stories ever written, up there in a league of its own, imitated but never equalled. But to me, there's one particularly genius detail that stands out.

The panel layout of the issue dedicated to Dr. Manhattan's backstory mirrors itself. That is, in the latter half, the panels are arranged as a mirror image of its opposite page in the issue.
