I'm tired and brain-filled. Given that, I did abysmally. Just under 10%. But I saved my list and will give it a go in a bit after some rest.

Good that your garden is doing well. With a combination of rain and coastal/salty weather I expect things can be a bit challenging at times.

We usually view from inside as well. The house is pretty high up and its surprising how much can be seen and heard. I can't remember the last time we went to a display.

Getting cozy away from the weather is so nice at this time of the year, and a good game makes it all the better. A nice rpg or puzzle game is like a good book once you're into it and just right for the shorter days. Unfortunately snow's a bit of a rarity down here, so it'll probably be rain and cold instead, both of which I like :-)

I know how you feel. I got to around 30% and my head felt like it wanted to explode. It doesn't mean you love your games any less if you can't remember all of their names :P

Also, second - no make that third favorite part of GoG sales - forgetting Device X has been logged in for like the last 4 hours.

So i'm guessing you have tonnes of games, i only buy here and the odd grog game.
Makes it easy to remember what i own, maybe it's more difficult with so many services involved.
That or your really, really OLD :P


Books yeah, that would be good, read all i had on visits to the docs and such, really could do with some more.
Haven't made it to the modern age yet, kindle and all that, still like a real book.
Something satisfying about the sound of the page turning or the smell of a new book, not that i sniff them...much.
Ack no, hate the rain and the cold, see enough water with it being coastal, love the snow.
Doesn't settle here often enough, turns to sludge pretty quickly.

Finally finished the 2nd/3rd biggest quest in Gothic 3. Had to use the console because of a bug, but I finally finished it. Finally!

Gothic 3 usually gets a bad rap, but you're making it sound pretty enjoyable.

I am totally guilty of this. I frequently bury the ol' schnozz into a book, most often when I first begin reading. LOVE library books as well - even more so I think. Yes, I realize I might be an oddball for having an opinion on the proper age of a book based on its smell.

To me it is.

The biggest problems with it are the broken-ish engine and the bugs, and stun locking enemies. The engine is kinda broken, by that I mean that it's framerate can spit and sputter and stutter at times due to it trying to stream in a huge world as you wander, there are ZERO loading screens once you get in the game, and the world is bigger than that of Oblivion and Fallout 3. It's got some bugs, but the one I just dealt with is the only major one I've encountered. Enemies can "stun lock" you (preventing you from attacking/defending) and you can them, depending on who gets the first hit in. The stun locking isn't as prevalent as people claim, but it does happen.

Beyond that, it's great. It has one of the biggest open worlds I've seen, definitely the biggest of its era, and it feels pretty natural and believable. Graphically it still looks beautiful on higher settings. It has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard (I can link you to a few tracks if you want), and the world sounds are great too. Something that sets it apart from Oblivion/etc is that it has actual packs of animals that roam around! There are tons of items to be found, and lots of skills to learn. There is no level scaling, you can wander into several mid/late-game level areas just a few minutes walk from the starting area. The story is fairly open, you can side with one of several factions or you can eliminate them all if you want. Want to side with the Orcs who have risen to power and have enslaved Humanity? You can!

All in all I really really like it.

I'm a fan of cool/cold/wet weather. Never been able to stand too much sunshine. Snow's just special.

Books are the best. The smell (I rarely have a reading session without a long inhale), sound, feel. Reading a book is a collaboration. I love holding the things. Kindle gadgets are awful. Books are tactile and natural and that's why they're so good. Kindles are inhuman. I've never smelled one, but I bet they pong :-)
