Empress_Owl: ... No staff picks ?... hum...
It is past 3 o'clock. Nothing has come up.

Hurm...

CarrionCrow: Doing okay here. Coffee and loud music are my friends. -laughs-

Sorry your professor is a stress-inducing halfwit. (And that strangling them probably isn't legal in your country, no matter how much they deserve it.)
Good to hear you're well. :)

Yeah, the disappointment of that combined with the fact that I still feel like crap was almost enough to make me snap ... But you know, courtesy is armor and all that, so I reined myself in ... mostly.

I'm glad you did. Not for their sake by any means, but for your own.

I'm quite good at passive-agressive friendliness in these cases. Keeps 'em on their toes without getting me into trouble.

I get on with most of my teachers like a house on fire but whenever I've been assigned to this professor it's always been a disaster. Unfortunately I keep bumping into her as we both focus on medieval literature and manuscripts.

FearfulSymmetry: *huge hug* Good to see you! :)

I really don't get along with this teacher. There's this big project that I have to do in the next two months but she neglected to tell us anything useful about it. So today we had a meeting about the project I selected and the methods I was going to use, and all of a sudden she's demanding something completely different and acting like I'm stupid, even though it was she who never explained anything in the first place. So my workload for this subject has just been doubled, in a period in which I already don't have any time to spare. :(
Good grief ):-| ... want us to burn her place to the ground ??

CarrionCrow: Hey there, Owl lady. =)

Glad to hear it. Doing all right here as well. Sucking down chemicals to wake back up while hoping in a giggly masochist sorta way that Insomnia is coming. It'd be fun doing that when I already have no sleep. ;)
Seriously ? ô__ô ... Insomnia ... ? .... !!!!

That might be quite nice if I actually knew where she lived. :P

Gimme her name, we'll Oogle it >:-| ... and if we can't find her, I'll ask Liam.

That's good, at least. Gives you a way to vent, but politely.

That isn't surprising, given what you've described. It sounds like they don't do their job very well.

Not getting my hopes up 100 percent, but I would like to see it. Some people complain, but as a format it does a great job of community building. From there, the good community experience leads to more people buying games.

Totally... and our beloved thread comes from an Insomnia one, doesn't it ? :)

The thread started during the twin sales last year, but the thought that caused it started with Insomnia. Didn't talk here before the first one, so that would be the very beginning.

Oh yes, we should definitely call in Liam!

Yep, this one is really annoying. She's supremely insecure and yet annoyingly cocky at the same time, with a constant better-than-thou attitude. I could deal with that if only she was actually clear about what she wanted people to do, but despite repeated requests for clarification she has been impossibly vague. /rant

I'm hoping for an insomnia sale as well. A real one this time, like the first one. :)

My past experiences with college professors went along those lines. They were more like talking reference books, walking in, dumping their load on the blackboard, then walking out, leaving most of us without a clue as to what had happened.

Not so this time, I've been lucky. Particularly the math guy, which was a subject I was specially fearful of, teaches things very clearly and doesn't resent when you ask him to go back to explain something a second or even a third time. He actually cares that we understand what he's explaining. It also helps that these guys are rather young, the chemistry guy being younger than I am. My only problem is with the law teacher. The worst part is that you can tell that she's actually trying. But she's got a bad case of "déformation professionnelle" and she just pukes out a torrent of legalese terms you drown in.

My last insomnia I had no obligations whatsoever so I could stay glued to the screen 19 hours a day.
This time I'll have to rely on you guys for when the good stuff shows up while I'm away.

Arrogant plus dim....oh yeah, that'd get old to be around in a hurry.

Sounds good to me. Didn't mind the Double Insomnia variation, but having a single item on-screen at a time would probably help to keep lulls down.

I was reading that, and thinking... textbook case of inferiority complex, with a high likelihood of slight bipolar syndrome.

No I am not suspiciously well informed on this matter, what are you implying? 50 points off Gryffindor!
