Gran Turismo was HUGE on the Playstation (in fact it was too big) and when it came out the racing fraternity went mad for it, myself included. At the time it was truly state of thew art, but its subsequent incarnations never really escaped its original major flaw, and that was a really bad tyre model which spoilt any kind of immersion. Great for arcade gamers, but those with a simulation bent were always left wanting.

What horror games does anyone plan on playing on halloween?
Me probably the first 3 resident evil games, maybe phantasmagoria games, silent hill 1.

Stilton: Hello, lunar lady ;-)
Fink Flitzer looks like fun. How has your day been, and as its getting late are you heading for another sleepless night? (I HOPE NOT) :-)
moonshineshadow: Day was ok. And yeah I might be heading in that direction... *extra big hug* Fink Flitzer looks like fun. How has your day been, and as its getting late are you heading for another sleepless night? (I HOPE NOT) :-)
EDIT: you could try this.

Well i only played it when i visited my friend - and we usually played Gran Turismo 2 on the Monte Carlo circuit :). It was fun but i guess nowhere near those games you mentioned earlier - but i guess one of the flagships of racing simulations in the console world nonetheless :).

Stilton: I hope you get sleepy and don't have to stay up all night again, although spending a night with you is really very nice (that will get them all talking again ;-)). Having to go through another day on no sleep the night before is really not a nice experience. Have you got a pair of comfy headphones you can use in bed and listen to some nice relaxing music?
EDIT: you could try this.
Yeah I hope so too. But I also need to consider the time. Because if it gets too late, I can deal better with no sleep at all than with a real short amount and then needing to get up. EDIT: you could try this.
And no, I don't have any headphones that work since I lie on my side which would make it uncomfortable.

Tempted to count Puzzle Quest 1 and 2, but in actuality it's just my willingness to suffer that scares me, not the games themselves. Me probably the first 3 resident evil games, maybe phantasmagoria games, silent hill 1.
At this point, it's looking like Downfall and Outlast. Have Cat Lady, Last Door and Limbo as side items.

ElTerprise: Funk Flitzer was awesome... (got that one from the Mickey Mouse magazine back in the day) :D
And now you've opened the nostalgia floodgates. The Mickey Mouse magazines I read, were little paperbacks between A5 and A6 in size and almost a hundred pages that cost about 50 cents of the time. Good times. Although some of the stories were absolutely horrible even to a 7 year old. Last year they reprinted facsimile copies at 10 times their original price.

Sorry about that :) Last year they reprinted facsimile copies at 10 times their original price.
Well the Mickey Mouse magazine i know were similar to a ordinary comic issue - but we also had the paperbacks you mentioned. Don't really remember the stories but that sounds about right.
What did you expect - they want to squeeze some more money out of it after all...

I played Limbo on the console, for all the high praise it got, I thought it was an ok puzzle platformer, with an interesting atmosphere but more than a bit overhyped.
It still kicks Braid's pretentious hipster butt. God I was so disappointed with that one.

Stilton: There were some console (Playstation) games I recall liking more, but as soon as I discovered PC simulations all of that was forgotten. I recall seeing a review of GT Legends on TV and my jaw dropped. It was the reason I bought a PC I wanted it so much. Then when I played the first time I had no wheel and had to manhandle a keyboard. Even with an unfamiliar control method I loved it right from the start :-) I love finding a game like that. Before PC's it was Tomb Raider on the PS1. I still have the TR PS1 games, although the console itself is long gone. I lived those games.
Well i was always a PC gamer (mostly because i never had a console until i got a PS3 two years ago). Yes most of those racing simulations look fantastic (even the older ones didn't age that much imho...) Hm..maybe i should give them - in case i can find a good one a try without a wheel....for the moment Grid has to do it i guess - which i started downloading after we begun talking about racing games ;)

j0ekerr: With the exception of the puzzle games, which I'm not into at all, just like I'm not into australian midget tossing. Ditto.

Never cared enough about Braid to get into it. I heard the whispers about its magnificence, and pretty much knew immediately that it'd be a great big ball of disappointment. Played it on the PS whatever way back when. It wasn't great.
