Stilton: Hi all! How is everyone?
avatar
AgentBirdnest: Good morning, Mr Stilty!

Having an overall pleasant day so far talking about games, fire, and porn. :-)

How are things on your end?
Pretty good here. The download marathon is progressing at a reasonably steady pace - I'm about two thirds-ish through, I think, so I'll be free in a few days.

Games, fire and porn... I'm not sure what to say about that lot... :/

Stilton: Hi all! How is everyone?
Hello there! Heading out to walk the pup, belly-sick easing up a bit so we're going to explore the neighborhood a little and then I'm going to start two-fisting some coffee in the hopes that my brain-parts will start working at some point today. ;)
I hope you are doing well yourself!

LeoLR: Fine here.
Have you finished your download marathon?
I'm on the last leg, I think (hope!). I remember it took ages before, so lets hope I don't have to do a full download again...

superstande: A-ha!
The Mighty Viking Arrives!
Um... discussing bacon porn, and folk lore, the usual stuff.
-Laughs- The usual stuff could be anything, clearly :-)

Bacon porn? I don't think I'll ask what that it...

Folk lore and Moomins are OK, though.

How're things with you? Is Wasteland fun?

akhliber: It can be pretty tricky, especially as you have to drink it a cup at a time, allowing 15 minutes between downing each cup. The better times, it's just meant feeling really nauseated until the test is done, then running to the restroom to "get the devil out." The more frustrating times have been those where I'm unable to keep the stuff down, which means starting over with the first cup and timer each time it comes back up, until eventually I hold it all down long enough. Fortunately, there has only been one time where I've been sick more than once during said procedure... but I've seen others at the hospital having a much worse time with it.
Most times I've been lucky enough to hold it down for almost precisely long enough to finish the scans and get to the bathroom before things get ugly. :)

Also, it's frustrating to be handed a cup of the stuff, to say something nerdy like, "ooh, it's what we do to chemists when they die!" and to have the nurse look at me like I'm crazy... "why would we give a dead person something to drink?" Gah!
I remember gagging through an entire cup of the stuff. When I started my second, I was shaking so badly that I couldn't keep the cup steady in my hand, and started spilling it. Being the wuss that I am, I was unable to finish all of it (I couldn't even drink that much water in that amount of time) and they did the test without the full amount of Barium in me.
With other scans, I had to drink a much more pleasant liquid that wasn't too different from Gatorade. Significantly easier :-)

I'm doing good :-) Enjoy your walk. Does all of that coffee make your belly better? Too much of it makes me feel like a volcano, and the results aren't always amusing!

ddickinson: We actually call it the Typhoon (named after another WW2 era plane). It sounds a bit more menacing than Eurofighter, which brings an image of the Euro currency with boxing gloves to mind. :-)
Well afaik Eurofighter Typhoon is the correct name but the Typhoon i usually omitted in Germany :)

Actually like that image...could be mascot for the horrible management of the financial crisis :)
avatar
ddickinson: I seem to remember us talking about that before, and some of the US friendly fire during Iraq and Afghanistan (sad, so we won't go into it again). Oh and it is Iraq (one word), not Eye-raq. :-p

Don't search for bacon porn, it is bound to exist, and be American. :-)
We don't even need wars to do it. 33,000 gun deaths per year in the US. More than car deaths now.
You mean it's not Eye-rack? What will you tell me next, that "nuclear" is no pronounced "nucular"? Pfft ;-p
avatar
ddickinson: Ah, so you just paid a Mexican to do it for you. :-)
Hahaha... Biggest laugh of the day. Well done ;-D
*big hug*

So we omit the Eurofighter part, and you omit the Typhoon part. Says a lot about the different governments attitudes to things. :-)

All separate of course... Combining them would be a disaster.
Well, games featuring fire are quite nice, such as Little Inferno >;-)

Of cours it is not, and aluminium as two "i"s, not just one (so stop calling it aluminum! :-))

*big silly hug*

I am glad the Mexican joke(?) made you laugh, that has put a (bigger) smile on my face.

*more hugs*

There's something about the style of that one that I don't like. The game looks good, as is World of Goo, but both have a cuteness that makes me a bit bilious. I could be turning into a curmudgeon, of course, which might be interesting...

Thanks I'm alright. Going to reserve the night for Wasteland 2, yeah it's really nice. Not so interested in the main plot at the moment - I love using skills and gaining more points in them. Like you can try to pick a lock of a gate. If you fail really bad, the lock can jam. But then you can use a repair skill to repair the lock. If that succeeds, you can try pick the lock again ;) So cool! It's full of fun stuff.

I had no idea about aluminium! That is bizarre! (for me.)
Ah-loom-in-eeeee-um... That's just freaky... >__o

*epic double smile hug* :-)
