pimpmonkey2382.313: Damn that's one hell of a collection. :P

CarrionCrow: It's the end result of a lot of sale watching over the last couple years. No way in hell I could afford it otherwise.
Yeah can't blame you one bit there, the sales are the best way to do it.

Stilton: If its only Steam, then I'll wait for it to show up elsewhere.

900 games is...is... I think I'm going to fall over.

I'll be glad when these damn downloads are in. Every so often the PC behaves like its full of treacle. It gets so I can't even refresh a browser page. Yeuch.
Remember when you gifted me Braveland, and that was game 500? It's at 960 now.

-laughs- It's being bitchy from you abusing it. That'll pass .

To go from maybe 12 including the free games, to close to a thousand, in 2 years time, you either have to be extremely wealthy with a small boatload of disposable income, check sales almost religiously, or rob a bank.

That doesn't seem so long ago - taking those numbers into account it ought to be a lot longer.

Damn PC. These things are supposed to be clever and quick on their feet. This one's made of lard. And I've got the Witcher games to look forward to...
Has anybody here played Hellgate: London, the original version at least? It's pretty interesting looking and would seem to be something I would enjoy, I know it has a single player mode but I'm not sure if it has a offline mode or not, which is my question.

You'll have absolute fun downloading witcher 2. :P

I'm going to make sure there's enough food and beer in before downloading that one because its going to be a long haul. Serves me right for buying it :-( I wouldn't mind if they didn't strangle my machine. See where addiction gets you?

If I remember right it's something like 24 gigs. Yeah I'm not about to download that one anytime soon either. :p

Getting close to a hundred items during the summer sale skews the numbers a bit.

Your computer's just thinking, "Why in the holy hell are we doing this again!?!?!?!"
I'm free! I'm free!! The downloads have finished and now its time I switched off.

Have fun and games, and I'll be back for another marathon downloading session tomorrow (and some chat on GOG's best forum).

'Night all :-)

-Laughs- I'm thinking the same thing, too!

Sleep well.

Yes, I have. The item system combined with the MMO-type boredom killed it for me. If you like MMO-style games to zone out with, but get annoyed with people, it might still be of use to you.

Another chunk of games were downloaded, and there was much rejoicing.

Have a good night. =)

Suddenly the sound of all the crickets, both in the thread and in the house, have me wide awake... the lady fell asleep to an audiobook, the pup lying dead-bug style next to her, and I'm trying to figure out whether I want to get into DA:I, some Age of Decadence (assuming I can figure out a build that can survive a single fight), or to just to sit out on the back patio and read a bit on my tablet. I've gotten into Wool again, and though I can't read in very long bursts, it feels more than worth going through again at the moment.

I'm also half convinced I should be going for a walk, or going to sleep, or checking out the Director's Cut of Wasteland 2, or pulling my phone out of my pocket and purchasing You Must Build a Boat, or calling a cab and explaining that I must be taken to the nearest place with both coffee and donuts, and that I really hope s/he accepts loose change and pizza coupons as payment. ;)

I'd really like to try out wasteland 2 sometime, being a huge fan of the first.

I really liked what I played of Wasteland 2, but I stopped playing when I heard about the Director's Cut coming out... I'm not certain this was the best decision, as I was a good halfway through the game, and from what I've seen in the game release thread, a lot of folks seem to think the Director's Cut isn't exactly a step up from the original. But then again, I went quite some time without coming back to the game, so starting over will be a good thing anyway, just so I have a better idea for the story as I play through it. :)
From what I played of the original version though, it is well worth it. I've seen a lot of complaints about the game, especially about how much of the game will be locked out, regardless of what you choose to specialize in, as you simply won't have enough points to specialize in everything... but though this occasionally really frustrated me about the game, I imagine it wouldn't be a huge problem to a non-completionist. I really enjoyed what I've seen thus far (though I've yet to see any of the new version.)

All your options sound good aside from the cab ride. They never accept loose change and pizza coupons...
