j0ekerr: Nothing much other than the usual.
I'm wrapping up for tonight. I think I've slipped back into healthy sleep patterns.
The shame!
I see.
How did that happen? ;)

How is university?

FearfulSymmetry: Today wasn't the best of days but it's almost over so that's good. :P And at least I got the book cover for my November writing project done, so that's something.

How did your first day go? And wow, you start really late. I'm just starting to wrap up the first half of the semester.
Hm...sorry to hear that. That's a start...:P

Well my sister in Kiel starts even later ... my first day was boring....had a sleep-inducing lecture :P

Stilton: It looks good, doesn't it. Good idea and really good visual style.

Only a year to go...

LeoLR: That's quite interesting. I hope they reach at least the cat stretch goal. :-)

Stilton: I've always been in two minds about Deus Ex. Part of it has been the blocky visuals, the other being I'm not sure if its my thing. The visual question appears to be resolved (I presume the GOG version will accept the changes).

Which leaves the story/how it plays.

You obviously know it well, what do you like about it?
avatar
LeoLR: You sound like you never played it before. Is this the case?
Anyway... I wouldn't say that I know Deus Ex well. The last time I played it was more than a year ago. :-)
This is what I can say about it and it may sound a bit nostalgic

Deus Ex was the first game I played that offered different ways to reach a given objective and to show that my actions on the game have some impact on the outcome of the story told.

The story itself can be a bit wacky and has some oversights but it is interesting enough (to me at least) with conspiracies and plot twists, nothing different than any spy movie or book.

The gameplay is the same from a standard FPS game with several options for character customization (skills and equipment) that influence how you can deal with each mission.
Thanks for that :-)

I've never played the game, but so many people give it high marks that I'm wondering what I'm missing. I like the idea of my choices making a difference, but there's something about its age and looks that I find offputting. If I play it with a nod to its era I might not be disappointed. Maybe I'll give it a go, but right now I'm still undecided.

Stilton: Good evening!

How are you doing?
avatar
ElTerprise: Good evening :)
Doing okay...how are you?
Doing good. The downloads are trundling along nicely and I got a chunk of housework done, so I'm fairly happy. I've been playing Plants vs Zombies which usually makes me smile.

Glad to hear that. Should continue downloading the games as well at some point....:)
Hm...never played that as of yet although i got it on the house for Origin....it's Tower-defense right?
Yay, time for more errands. Back in a bit.
As is the usual case lately, AgentTiredAsPluck's head hits the pillow and suddenly is no longer tired.

Evenoon, everyone.

And how long do your classes go on? Mine typically end late May, although there's some more stuff to wrap up after that.

I think I'll probably head to bed soon ... tomorrow is going to be a long day. *waves at everyone*

It's magic :P

...hmm..i'm always tempted to reply with Adamnoon :P

Hello again Agent *big hug*
Maybe you caught some pixie dust :)
What is it with some people and leaving their door open under the pretense of "it'll keep the house cool"?! If it's warm outside then no, it's NOT going to cool your house down. You know what would? Turning on your air conditioning!

and that is my mini rant for the hour, haha. How are y'all doing?

Hello and goodbye, Ms Metry. *waves back*

The semester ends 30th of March but the classes usually end at the first week of february. The summer semester starts at 1st of April and ends at the first week of July...it's usually something around 12-14 weeks.

I wish you a good night and sleep well *big good night hug* :)

My suggestion is for you to search for some gameplay videos of Deus Ex on YouTube to see how it works.

Nah, I think I just caught some annoyingasfuck dust. Every night for about a week, it takes me hours to fall asleep. Itt's getting old +__+
Plenty of people here sleep much worse and much less than I do though, so I shouldn't complayn.
In other news, I just invented a new way to spell complain ^^

Ah, I see, so your classes definitely go on longer, then. I guess that explains it. :P We have 4x7 weeks of classes, and then about 3 weeks after every period of classes for exams.

*good night hug*

That explains it indeed....and they told us it would become easier with the bachelor/master system in the EU..... :P
