moonshineshadow: You know, it is not nice to withhold the names from me, I am getting withdrawel symptoms from the absence of ninja gifting :P
I understand. Just don't think it's exactly fair for you to cover for GOG when they've got errors that break the core of the whole thing.

Chat problems are bad. Forum problems are bad. But they're all secondary to the basic function - people being able to buy stuff with money. When that breaks, there's something seriously screwed up.

Yeah that is true. I really don't know why they always release patches at the same time when new releases and promos are just going on... it is always the same annoying situation. The servers are failing and even basic functions like buying something are not working correctly. They should invest in some more server capacities, since this is happening way too often.

No clue, honestly. I keep going back to lack of personnel, since it's the only thing that makes sense. Some people would say that GOG just doesn't give a shit, but that's silly. Of course they care, even if it's for no other reason than their livelihoods depending on it.

Oh, for sure they are lacking personnel. You just have to look at their job offer site and can see how long the positions are open.
But I think they also have a server problem since when big sales are going on or when huge patches for Witcher 3 are released everything becomes really slow or stops working.

That whole situation actually makes me glad my computer can't run Witcher 3, leaving it at the very bottom of my list for the foreseeable future. If I spent 85 dollars on the game plus expansion pass, then had to fight with server problems, I'd be pretty frigging aggravated.
Good evening everyone *big hugs and waves* :)

True :D
I have not told my mum yet about the new patch, with the problems she would only get annoyed, I'll tell her once things calmed down, it is not like one can not continue to play without this patch :P
Good evening, everyone!

So…. I got to bed last night, and you all have a party with cross dressing strippers, I go to rest after not feeling too good earlier and you have porn games on here. I can't leave you lot alone for one minute can I? :-)

*hugs and waves*
This is downtime as far as major activity goes, so it feels like they might be making changes as we speak, or at least tuning the system. Which again indicates there might be a sale in the offing some time soon. They have to sort things out before the next sale, or getting clogged like this will make people too peeved to keep trying to spend money. Every big sale I've seen has had server/site problems somewhere along the way. Its a major and damaging flaw in the way GOG conduct themselves. Its no fun being on the receiving end, either.

I think it is just due to the latest Witcher 3 patch. It happens every time they launch a new patch. But keep your chin up, a sale might be here soon. :-)

I'd certainly like a sale, but only if it runs smoothly. No teeth-gnashing this time around, please, GOG!

How are you, Sister - have you had a good day?

Good idea. This hobby's supposed to be about fun, not wanting to throw your computer out the window because you can't get the multi-gig patch you spent hours downloading to complete and work properly.

BRINGING BACK THE ADVENTURE GAME

Dear Fans of Adventure Games / Fellow Adventurers,

Here's the second look at my project. It's a tremendous undertaking, and I've assembled a dynamic cast and crew throughout the process. I look forward to sharing more and more with you.

Too often, when you think of an adventure game, you have to think of the past. I want to think ahead and be excited. I want the adventure game to live in the NOW again. I believe the genre never reached its full glorious potential, and we need someone to pilot it to the heights it can reach. We deserve more than just nostalgia. We need the adventure game to LIVE again. I say this while keeping in mind the consistent voices of frustration, longing, false hope, dissatisfaction, slight satisfaction, mixed satisfaction, and defeat from a vocal majority of fans of classic games.

If you're a fan of adventure games, you have a friend in me. I don't know how these early previews will come across to you, and there's a lot to be revealed, but know that this game is a very reassuring step in the direction of what people like us have been missing. With this game, and as my company grows, you will see and experience the endless potential of adventure.

I want to thank you for doing what you can to get the work of this team into the minds of those who can appreciate us most. This is an epic first project coming out of a small, determined production company, and everyone involved appreciates your support.

As your friend and fellow adventurer, I will rescue the adventure game for the truer fans of its golden age. And I won't be alone on this quest.

Give me keys to locked doors. Hand me a map, a trinket, or a treasure chest.

I'll take you with me.

Ryan

I guess they will not host one during the Witcher 3 patch time, as the two combines may destroy GOG for good. :-)

I am doing okay, burning up a little, but that is due to the nerve trauma, which can't really be helped. it comes and goes, but it is making me feel like I have a fever, which I am hoping it doesn't turn out to be the onset of one.

How are you, been busy playing the new releases? :-)
