Morning! *hugs and waves*

AgentBirdnest: For first-person games, I always set Q and E for lean, but I never actually use them :-p (A few exceptions, like Thief.) I like to use MMB for my "often needed action", but sometimes I go with F instead.
I like to set my quickload and quicksave keys to Numpad 1 and 3 if I can :-p
I almost never use MMB for anything, since it's the mousewheel, and mine is rather sensitive. I hate accidentally switching to i.e. rocket launcher while trying to enable the scope...

I can see the sense in having QS/QL on the keypad, but my fingers are hardwired to F5/F9 ever since Doom.

NoNewTaleToTell: Hey don't talk about me when I'm not in the room! Now if you'll excuse me, I have a job to do!

CarrionCrow: Funnily enough, I figured Pimpmonkey would enlist me for that lovely, lovely task after my mention of it.
Advice - don't do that without a hazmat suit. Just in case.
You get to wash the towels at the foot of the beds. :p

Good morning. =)

I wouldn't worry too much about the cleaning. Someone will be around to take care of it in a while.

How are you doing today?

Shit, that's easy. All I need is a pair of salad tongs, a 30 gallon garbage bag, some lighter fluid and a match.
One quick whoosh and problem solved. Sometimes it's better to just buy new towels.

Holy shit, I hate levels that close themselves off to exploration with no warning. Just spent 35 minutes clearing out enemies, thinking I could check unseen areas out for loot or info, only to find myself stuck with a self-destruct timer.

Well that sucks. What game?

Hello! I'm ok, just a bit of flu happening.
Alright. I'll leave the cleaning for whoever is inspired to do that :)
Three more hours till weekend \o/

Playing Dex at the moment. Still trying to decide whether I fully like it or not.

Crap, you're sick too? Maybe there's a cold strain that is running through the thread.

There you go. You can't get sick with the frigging flu right before the weekend. The illness isn't allowed to have such bad timing.

*waves at thread*

*steps into a puddle of beer*

... ick.
Just played some of Colonial Marines.

It is TERRIBLE.

Legitimately terrible.

I just... cannot even describe how shit this game is. In the first few minutes, it's already made me hate it.

What the hell, Gearbox? How could you screw up this bad?

I really hope it gets better as it goes along. I really do. I want to love this game.

Hello.

Guys, may I ask? Do the prices that game publishers charge for their games often change upon moving from a pre-order from to a normal purchase form after those certain games had been released? I'm planning to buy the new Star Wars Battlefront, but still holding myself back until EA charges the game to a lower price (I mean, 89.90 US dollars? I don't live at the US, and the price will definitely increase once converted to my country's currency).

I also have another game in mind that I would probably buy on GOG, which is the Mount & Blade 2 Bannerlord (although I hope this game would be released on GOG as well since all the other M&B are also present here). But, if I did manage to buy the Star Wars Battlefront, I would probably not buy M&B 2. Dang it. I really like these 2 games.

Well, prices do tend to drop, but that might take a while. Still, if you can hold out half a year or so there might be a pretty big sale at some point. If you want to get it straightaway you will pay more, but you get the benefit of playing it immediately. If you wait, on the other hand, you might eventually able to save 50% or more, but it might take a while (we're probably talking several months at the least).
Good morning everyone *big hugs and waves*
How are you all doing?

NoNewTaleToTell: How far along are you in Terraria? I've tried to start it twice but I never get more than ten minutes into it, not because I dislike it but because I have no idea what to do haha. Interestingly enough I never had that issue with other "go make your own fun!" games, not even Minecraft/Minetest. Any tips on what to do at first?

I wish Saints Row: The Third had a built in mission replay function like 2 did, but ah well. I've tried replaying it myself but I think I'm too attached my main character to do it, probably because I've spent a hundred hours on that one. Have fun!
Just got into Hardmode - after beating the final pre-hardmode boss. The same happened to me when i first started Terraria. Well i guess you might start the same way as in Minecraft by building a shelter. Afterwards you should mine ore for better equipment. You also should be prepared for the arrival of NPCs (by having additional living space ready). Oh and while you might explore the world you should be very careful in the harder biomes like the jungle and crimson/corruption (depends on the world).

But in the end it's up to you want you want to do. Terraria is similar to MInecraft but has some really fine similarities to metroidvania games with the bosses etc. A good place for information is the official Terraria wiki.

Hm...maybe i should play the second one first because i never really played that one because of technical problems. Well i don't see a problem with replaying The Third tough because i basically used the standard character when i first played it.

I watched a Let's Play for the whole thing. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it doesn't. Not at all. It is one of the most cynically developed, half-assedly executed, let's use memories of something good to screw people out of their money piles of garbage I've ever run across.
