Stilton: I'm trying to fight the urge to cherry pick all of the small games and knock off mybe a third of the collection in two or three hours. But then I'll have to trawl back through and see where the gaps are. Unnecessary complication. Boring as A..B..C.. is, its methodical as, being male, I cannot multi-task.
CarrionCrow: You'll lose time backtracking. Settle in and embrace the boredom. Also, I'm with you at this point regarding a large sale. Seems like that will be the only way to wipe out large chunks of list items at once. Everything's too scattered for single publisher weekend sales to do the trick.
Just went for a quick evening walk (came back with savoury snacks and beer) and it was really nice. Cool air, sky turning pink, a pleasant colour all around. I don't half like autumn.
Can I come and share it with you? Please?

toxicTom: I also have a 16yo single malt, double matured distiller's edition (bourbon and cherry cask) in a manually numbered bottle. But I leave that for Saturday night when I'll suddenly be another year older.
A sensible choice, given the importance of the date you're saving it for. Also, happy early birthday. =)

Depends on the present, that bottled wasn't cheap... Bought it at the International Highland Games in Trebsen. Actually more for my wife than for me, she's
:-D
Like rather peaty? It's more "smoky" than Springbank (one of my favs) or Tallisker, a little less than Cragganmore. The first sip is really kicking it, but after that the cherry cask makes for a real nice full aroma with a hint of grapes. Distillery is Lagaluvin, Islay.

Stilton: It would definitely be nice to wipe a few off the list. I'm not as rabid as I used to be as regards grabbing handfuls of games whenever the opportunity arose. My wants are pretty minimal compared to what they have been, so a sale now would be a pleasure. Of course there would be things to tempt me, but that's part of the fun.
Just went for a quick evening walk (came back with savoury snacks and beer) and it was really nice. Cool air, sky turning pink, a pleasant colour all around. I don't half like autumn.
Agreed. Clearing the list will be great when it happens, but with a ten year backlog it gets hard to keep up that same level of trying to purchase everything that's not nailed down. (Besides, did that on the last big sale already, to an absurd degree.) At the moment, there are 6 games out of 57 that I can say I have a real desire to grab and play as soon as I get them. Autumn is probably the best time of the year. After a few months of slowly roasting with virtually no break, being able to go outside without feeling like you're going to burst into flames is very, very welcome.

Football Mogul 2012 is screwing me over, man! My team's players are not improving at all despite winning game after game. Quarterback throw 32 touchdowns against 9 interceptions? Oh yeah 74 (out of a max of 99) is TOTALLY a fair rating. Defensive end get 18 sacks, 69 tackles and 2 interceptions? Yeah....79 DEFINITELY sounds like the right rating.
I even had an undefeated season last year but nobody's stats were increased and this year we went 13-3 in the regular season but we're rated as one of the least talented teams in the entire league! What's up with that, game?!
Anyway, rant aside, how are y'all doin'?

That sounds delicious. Given a choice of being able to exist on either food or drink, I'd opt for booze :-) :-D

I've just excahnged roles with a bottle (formerly) containing a dark and bitter ale, and I can feel it filling my head like warm smoke. My posts for the next hour or two might be a little surreal...
And I'm not ggoing to edit out typos, either, so there...

Good evening everyone :)
Finally back from work.
Yes - that's definitely a good way but in the end it's only a front end ;)

Stilton: Debian's good and solid. Arch was too awkward to get going for me - I like the Windows approach to things where most of it is pretty obvious, lots of GUIs and stuff. That's where the Ubuntus score.
Well that's waht i like about Debian. You'll get a rocksolid and stable system without much bloat. Yep - thought the same when i first looked at Arch but i don't mind using the command line to get it going (not anymore at least). Yes - that's definitely a good way but in the end it's only a front end ;)

I'm weird.
I had a compulsive need to watch that slider count down the games sold in the now legendary-may-it-always-be-worshipped Keaning GOG sale. And now, as I'm downloading my collection, I'm looking at the downloader do the same thing with a smile on my face.
What can this mean..?
