Stilton: Hey, Sarge! How're you doing, boy? You're good at smiling!
What a great little dog ;-) He looks mightly friendly and full of beans. That's the kind of face I'd want to hear talking.
Have you read Watchers by Dean Koontz? There's a great dog in that.
I would adore getting to hear him talk. As much as I talk to him, he's got to wish he could speak long enough to tell me to shut up, at the very least. We left him with the woman we took him to for training class a couple months back, and she really blew us away with her kindness. She was actually booked for board and train clients through the end of this December, but had a dog coming in that she thought would work really well with Sarge and made extra room in her house to board him (she works from home, but has a 2nd building on the property she uses as her office and as a training space for her business) for a week, just because she really liked us as clients and knew I was struggling with some health issues.
What really caught me off guard was that she wouldn't even let us pay her. We were going to board him anyway, and were fully prepared to pay the price of her two-week board & train package, even if she's just watching him for a week, as she was so willing to take him in even though she's so booked already. But she wouldn't accept, insisted she really just wanted to do this for us, as asked us to please let her. She's so incredibly good to Sarge, it's just nice to know he's with someone so caring while he's away.
I haven't read any Dean Koontz, but I'll look for it. I'll most likely try to find an audiobook, as I have a lot of trouble reading for more than a few minutes at a time these days, and besides, audiobooks are just calming and great to clean to. What's nice is that I'm much more able to read more if the text is broken into smaller sections (narrow columns as opposed to spreading across the width of a book's pages) and as a result, I can read all the text in a lot of video games without having to take constant breaks. It's one of the reasons I really love story-heavy RPGs. Been playing some more of the Pillars of Eternity a bit today, as I just felt like doing some reading. The fact that it's damn fun to play is coming across as an added bonus. :)
I hope you're enjoying your Sunday!
