Good Mornings and Middles Of Days! (pick one you like)

Hhm... Yeah I was also wondering about the region-locked gifting...

Just came home. Wife is eating chili fish... I might grab a sandwich...

Hey Crow, stop smoking, that's not good for you...

akhliber: Hello! An entirely-too-giddy-and-lazy day for me thus far. I really ought to be either sleeping or cleaning, but tooling around just seems so appealing today.
I hope you're having a good day yourself!
Hell, if you're enjoying yourself and nothing's in dire need, go with that a while longer. No point in squandering a good time for the sake of the ritual of cleaning crap. ;)

CarrionCrow: It's okay. Too much sleep and dreams start becoming memorable. That's never a good thing. Have to balance it all out a bit.

They're all right, will probably end up picking up the two Wolfenstein items and Quake 2. No point in getting Quake 3 since I don't do multiplayer and that's all the game is.

Did the specialist have any useful information for you, at least?
I know how that can be. I have been sleeping a lot more since I became ill and some of the dreams have not been very nice ones, especially the ones that are a little too close to home.

I do not think I have played any of the new releases. For some reason I have never been a fan of Quake and arena type shooters. I prefer them with a bit more story and plot.

Not much, there is not much really he can say at this point. They want to send my case file to a research place. They can't help, but they are hoping the results and notes from it all might be helpful in the future, plus they are surprised I am at home after all that I have been through as others have been forced to be in intensive care until they died, rather than fit enough to at least rest at home, which is something only a few people manage. Other than that it is just up to my body recovering soon or things do not really look too good.

ElTerprise: Thanks. Yes...i guess so too....which is a shame....

I went for the complete digital thingy...:)
It's inevitable. GOG's not locking them for shits and giggles. People will push the limit, and they'll have to push back.

Very cool. =) Thinking of going for what'll get me beta access to the game sooner. It's also got the Atlas skin, but I'm not the biggest fan of that model, so it's not hugely important for me.

ddickinson: Quick Question:

Are we able to gift region locked games to those evil Nazis (or loveable Germans, your choice), or is that not allowed? :-)
I doubt that GOG is going to stop you from buying a game as a gift. At least, they don't do so anymore. If your question was, instead, whether a German can redeem one of those games, then the answer should be yes, as a Commandos 2+3 giftcode I bought, was successfully redeemed by a German GOG user.

Good afternoon. =)

Yeah, I know. A person would have to be a bit on the braindead side to think that sucking down a couple packs worth of toxic smoke every day was a good idea. But, I have set a date for quitting. Here's hoping that I can still type decently if I freak out, punch something and break my frigging hand again. -laughs-

In that case gifting would be on the same level as the Steam one plus some bonus topping because if i'm not mistaken the Wolfpack (W3D, Spear of Destiny and RTCW) is giftable

You mean the MechWarrior tier? That's the one i chose :)

Thank you very much for the answer. It is nice to know we can still gift the games to the German users so they won't miss out on the region locked games.

Excellent point! I am a sucker for ritual, but housekeeping is far from being an interesting one. I've got a couple new records to check out whenever I do feel like actually moving about and doing things, but for now I'm perfectly content with "contemplating future accomplishments."

Stilton: Its felt like some kind of rodent has been chewing my groin for the last few weeks, so I had an ultrasound scan this morning and they found it. Relief. Now I can get it fixed, or maybe a zip put in - it might come in useful for something. A screen door sound good, too...

akhliber: Having them is no fun at all, but I'm glad you at least know for sure now so you can have it addressed. I've currently got one in the front seam of my stomach above the navel, but fortunately it isn't developed enough to be "in the danger zone" so to speak. I have to have it looked at occasionally, but don't need surgery at the moment, at least.
I'm quite curious about the screen door as well! Sounds a bit fascinating, though not exactly comfortable. :)
That they can be anywhere other than the groin came as a revelation to me, probably because that was my early experience of them. A doctor even suggested that a persistent pain I've been having below my right ribs could be one, as well. For all I know Hernia could be the goddess of ubiquitous gut pains...

You've just come up with my new official slogan:
"I'm contemplating future accomplishments."
Now to get a T-shirt printed..... :-)

Yeah...definitely not fun. At all.

I only played a tiny bit of Quake years ago before buying it again. It's a fun game, so the second should be good as well. Have heard of Wolfenstein for years, but never played it. And yes, they're not exactly brimming with anything besides shooting stuff. (Unless you count beating your use button to pieces looking for secret areas. Intensely annoying mechanic right there.)

Well, that's just fucking fantastic. -shakes head- Will keep on hoping that you get to gradually feeling better.

Ouch...
Yeah good luck!
Quitting something is not easy... I've been 7 weeks without beer and I think I might lose a tooth or two because of the huge pile of candy I've been eating as a substitute :) And there have been huge cravings and some crazy party dreams :)

Stilton: I'm going to push to get mine sorted asap (even saying 'push' hurts). My doc is pretty good and if I throw myself at her mercy she'll get it booked in. It feels fairly small (its in more or less the same place I had one when I was really young - two or three years old), and feels a little like retracing old steps as I remember how it felt back then.
I hope you're able to get in soon, and that recovery comes quickly and without too much pain. Having had one before is both good and bad, I suppose, depending on perspective. For me, I think I'll consider it a benefit when time to address the current one with surgery, as the memory of the experience strikes me with a feeling of, "oh, if I could do that at nine, it will be cake." But I imagine it could go in either direction, and that the memory of a previous surgical experience could just cause unpleasant memories of feeling like crap.
And yeah, if I were you, I wouldn't even say "push" more often than necessary in the mean time. Or cough. Or laugh. Or sit up from a lying position. Or move much. ;)

Routine is helpful, but boring routine is just that. Tends to erode motivation a bit when your mind keeps wandering to more interesting things.
