FearfulSymmetry: Hopefully, we still need to get some support bits underneath the washing machine, but my housemate and I just couldn't lift the thing enough to manage that with the two of us. Some people are coming by to pick up our old broken washing machine tonight, and we're hoping they might be able to help. Otherwise I'm all right, except for the fact that I really can't concentrate on my reading after all that exertion. :P
How are you today? Did you do anything nice?
Fingers crossed then that they will offer some help. Sorry to hear you are having trouble concentrating. I know how that is, my mind is all over the place recently. I keep trying to do a little short story for Crew's giveaway and I can't even manage that, which just gets me a little annoyed at myself. How are you today? Did you do anything nice?
I am doing okay today, nothing to complain about. Well, there is, but I won't. :-)
I have just been resting for most of the day, and chatting on here. I don't seem to be as tired as I was, but that could be due to me cutting the painkillers as they never really helped anyway, and I find that once you get used to the pain you can block it out better anyway. It doesn't always work, but I prefer being more awake than always drowsy.
EndreWhiteMane: Hi DD! *big hug*
sorry to hear things aren't going as well for you as they could be, hope things take a turn for the better very soon.
I'm doing OK here, just being my usual lazy self.
Thank you. I am sure I will be fine, I just don't seem to be having the best of luck at the moment. sorry to hear things aren't going as well for you as they could be, hope things take a turn for the better very soon.

I am glad to hear you are doing okay. Is your medication still causing you some trouble?
That would be fine with me if you would like to pass on the key. I can see if I can send it to her in a message now, and failing that I can give it to her once she is back online.

l0rdtr3k: Hurray for hugs!*hugs Sinistar*
How're you? Enjoying the week? Why did you changed your avatar? I changed mine because I got killed by Owl and had to regenerate but that's besides the point. Anyway, how're you?
Thanks, the hugs are appreciated. Kind of a rough work week, one of those that is devoted more to fixing problems than making new progress. But such things must be. :) How're you? Enjoying the week? Why did you changed your avatar? I changed mine because I got killed by Owl and had to regenerate but that's besides the point. Anyway, how're you?
The avatar change is in promotion/celebration of this.
Smongo, thanks again!

ddickinson: Hello, Sinistar.
Owl is taking a little break from the forum, so it may take a little time for her to reply to your post, if she sees it at all due to how quickly this thread moves. If you would like I can tell her once she is back?
IAmSinistar: Thanks DD, that would be fine. If you like I can even pass the key along to you to hold for her, if you wish. Six-of-one to me either way. :) Owl is taking a little break from the forum, so it may take a little time for her to reply to your post, if she sees it at all due to how quickly this thread moves. I think we'll get her covered :D

akhliber: I'm not being as interactive as I'd like, as it seems I've passed whatever caused this bronchitis on to the lady and the pup is being a lovely little handful, but I'm enjoying reading you all today as I am able.
Endre, I'm glad you bash yourself in the face today, though you have to admit, that's a great way to respond to that dream. Had the bad guy been real, he'd likely run off scared and confused when he saw you respond to his presence by waking up and attacking yourself. ;)
Everyone else, more later, things are a bit hectic. *Hugs all around*
:)
Sorry to hear things are a big hectic for you. I hope things will get better very soon, and that your lovely wife and pup will be feeling better soon. No problem at all, you are always welcome. And sorry to hear you are having a rough week at work. Fingers crossed things will get better. Also, I have no idea what Smongo means. :-)
*big hug*
Edit: And a very big thank you for the lovely gift. You are very sweet. *big thank you hug*

Much ta, the key has been sent, along with a little something else. That'll teach you to leave your wishlist in plain sight. ;) *big hug*
"Smongo" I picked up from the old radio comedy geniuses Firesign Theatre. Specifically from their gaming-themed album "Eat Or Be Eaten". The world shall not see their like again.

I noticed the little something, thank you very much. And I have to leave my wishlist in plain sight, sadly, or others have threatened to hide theirs. I blame Hyper, it was all his fault I got the wishlist to begin with. He has a lot to answer for. :-) "Smongo" I picked up from the old radio comedy geniuses Firesign Theatre. And thank you for the Smongo explanation, and the link. I will have a look once I am feeling a bit less fuzzy headed. I enjoy some old time radio shows now and then.

You've probably been exposed to them without knowing it. They were a huge counterculture influence, as well as a direct influence on Joel Hodgson and his creation of MST3K. Their ensemble audio performances are incredibly layered, as well as being subversively funny.

Sounds interesting. I think most of the old time radio I have heard is British stuff, although there has been some American shows, but none that I can remember off the top of my head. I used to like the old anthology shows on the radio, kind of like the Twilight Zone type thing. I was never really big on the dramas or crime shows, but the sci-fi and comedy shows were often quite entertaining. I don't really listen to them much these days, but I still do now and then when the mood takes me. My grandmother used to really enjoy them, which is probably where I picked it up from.

I'm pretty passionate about old time radio shows and have a large collection. Recently I've been listening my way through the old British series The Goon Show. I like the old suspense/horror shows as well. I think the best of those is from Canada, with [url=https://archive.org/details/LightsOutOTR]Lights Out Everybody a close second.ddickinson

My dad always liked things like the Goon show and things like that. The BBC has a radio station that plays a lot of the older radio comedies and shows, and of course there are places like archive.org and other online radios that showcase a lot of the forgotten gems. Of course, I do tend to get a few funny looks when I mention I like older shows given that I am not that old myself. But I blame my parents and grandparents, we often like what we grow up with, not that I mind liking what I like. :-)Oriza-Triznyák
