ElTerprise: Exactly Plus they might hurt themselves in the long run with withholding stuff. People might remember that. And they could also make a bit more money on selling the extras.
But it's also true that those plans need to be properly disclosed to Backers as well.

CarrionCrow: It's a rock and a hard place, I think. The backers will appreciate a special bonus, but the developers risk backlash by not offering everything to everyone, like you said.

CarrionCrow: -laughing hard- It's funny you mention that. They have a separate system of stretch goals based on how much social exposure the Kickstarter gets. The ultimate goal involves three head people from Harebrained and three head people from the company that makes the tabletop version playing a game online, and the losers have their beards cut off.

ElTerprise: It's difficult situation and i see the problems with balancing the interests of the backers and of everyone else. And the backers deserve special bonuses - no doubt about that.
I guess there is no perfect solution to that but as i said the Battletech Kickstarter seems really appealing due to the way they handle it :)

Went into a deep depression for a month or so after that... Got tired of the community here, and tired of life in general. Mid-November I started coming out of it. Right around the same time the Fall Sale started. Found the tracker thread, met a bunch of excellent people there (who still post here regularly. I won't list them because I'm sure I'll leave someone out, but you know who you are ;-p) and stuck around for the Winter sale tracker thread, and eventually this one. Still wasn't doing too well at the time, if anyone remembers the "old" me, but these days I'm doing better than ever. Special shout out to those who gave me a hand and kept me company when I was down. Odd as it sounds, being the internet, and we have never been in the same room, the people here had a hand in helping me become a new person. Thank you all. I'll never forget it.

Yes, I did. It might be a side effect of getting older, but it seems that my body is at the point of punishing my dumb ass whenever I do that. Feeling like crap all day isn't a good trade-off for staying up for days doing shit of no great importance.
