PalioDeMonte: Good morning, everyone!

Today is a lovely day, as InXile finally started their Backer's Page for The Bard's Tale IV and I was able to redeem my Wasteland 2 key - just that I won't have time to play as I'm visiting my parents this weekend. But that's also something I've been looking forward to for quite a long time, as I haven't seen my family since January.

Folks, this weekend is gonna be awesome! *cheerful hug*
Hello.
Yup. Saw that as well - took them some time didn't it?
Sounds like a great weekend then. *big cheerful return hug* :)

Stilton: I think I feel like something involving, so Papers could be a good choice. That or Resonance.

As a subject change, I wonder how Bete and Lancelot are doing. Well, I hope.
It's definitely involving - hm i might replay at some point because i still haven't seen all endings. Haven't played Resonance yet but it looks interesting.

So we're really going with Lancelot now? :)
I hope so too.

CarrionCrow: All right, time to sleep before I crash out here again. That would be bad.

Have a good day, everyone. =)
Good night and sleep well Crow :)

Ten quid on Strength, please. What are the odds?
Good morning, folks of the thread! I hope you all have a lovely day today. I've apparently been passing out a bit, so my poor lady's been quite stressed out / worried since the infusion. From what I've read, it's quite common, and I don't feel particularly poorly outside of the side-effects I should expect (joint pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, taste of metal in my mouth and such) so I'm finding myself unable to worry seriously about it myself, but I'm going to take things super-carefully around the house with Sarge today just to be sure I don't do anything careless / stupid (well, that I minimize the stupid/careless things I do, at any rate.)

In non-health related matters, I've been finding myself in a less-than-ideal frame of mind over some personal life-stuffs, and it's inspired me to give SOMA a try today. It's actually what inspired my playthroughs of Fallout 3 and New Vegas, as it seemed wandering a wasteland would be an excellent escape from the "grey wastes" in my head of late, and it has indeed been absolutely wonderful, both as therapy and as a gaming experience.

So, on to SOMA. I've never been one to play horror games. I tried the first Silent Hill on a Playstation and the first jump scare in the game had me throwing the controller and unplugging the console. It's odd, as I've always found myself unable to be scared by horror moves, and usually find them boring, contrived, and impossible to be immersed in to a point of even partial belief. I avoid them in general just because I am not a fan of unnecessary gore and of seeing people suffer, and certain situations that are common in such movies are ptsd triggers for me, so especially given the movies don't have the intended "exciting" effect on me, I don't bother with many of them. But seeing SOMA and seeing the reviews that compared it to some of Dick's greatest science fiction has me convinced that this could possibly be a truly immersive horror experience, and that that is exactly what the doctor ordered for my brain. :) I opened it last night just to get a feel for how to play it, as I really haven't had much experience with horror games since Silent Hill. I was too tired to play for long enough to really get the story going, but so far it's gorgeous and quite interesting. Time will tell if I'll actually be skilled enough with my reactions to complete it (I used to pass on FPS and RTS for this reason, just poor response time, would leave me more stressed than entertained... but I've been enjoying a few FPS games lately, so why not give this a shot as well?)

Have any of you given it a go? I'm excited to see it, and hoping to become immersed and completely unsettled. I'm still enjoying Fallout: New Vegas, but though it's still a great gaming experience, it started feeling a lot less like wandering alone in a post-apocalyptic world, and I think that was where the really good "therapy session" of it all was coming into play. I'm pretty confident SOMA will at the very least be interesting and leave an impression on me. :)

I wish you all a beautiful day!
My friends, I'd like to ask for your help: As croxxx, who seems to be very nice, has just excluded two of nes400' accounts from his giveaway, his rep - currently 22 - will probably turn negative quite soon. Please bombard him with +1s wherever he shows up!

You know you've been watching too much breaking bad when the first thing you think about making your own meth lab is... how hard can it be?

I didn't play Resonance yet... I absolutely loved the Blackwell Series, then finished A Golden Wake (not bad), then tried and failed to like Gemeni Rue, and now I'm giving Primordia a try... :)
Papers, Please is cool ; but quite hard, it's nice if you don't have much time to play (or else you're much better than I am)

We're doing well, thanks !! By the way, his name is Leon, today. He's born at the office, in Leon Blum street... :) and it sounds like Leo, which I liked, but was also my owlet's godmother's nickname... so for the moment I'll stick with Leon... The little creature sleeps well and eat when we force him to >:-| ... and he complains in everyone's hands but mine :-p which I'm very proud of, as I have to bear the hard part : waking up at 2 am and 5 am to feed the beast... luckily this phase won't last long. After next week if he gains enough weight I'll only have to wake up once, then in 2 more weeks, not at all **crossing fingers**

How are you going today Stillton ?? :)

Good morning, and thanks for the reminder! I got the email last night while in a brief "woke state" and promptly forgot again. :) I hope you have a great weekend with your family!

:-\ Sorry to hear you've passed out... and feeling not too great. I hope both your health and moral will improve quickly !!... Hopefully SOMA will help ? :) I never played it ; like you I'm not really into horror games (I like horror movies ; well, at least the 10% not crappy ones :-) but I am too "involved" when I play a game, so I can't play horror games, I'm far too freaked out)... but SOMA looks different... I look forwards to read your review about it, then... :)
**Big get-better-soon hugs** !!

I'm really well, thank you! Leon sounds like a nice name ;-)

The 'forcing him to eat' part sounds concerning. I would've thought that a youngster would want to eat as much as he can get. Maybe he has some kind of stomach problem or doesn't like how/what he's being fed? I assume you have phoned somewhere for advice (phew, I sound like his long lost grandfather!)

You're doing a great job, Nurse, and you deserve to feel proud. He's lucky you came along ;-)

Thank you for the game advice. I think I'll play some Papers, Please and then some Resonance and see which one I feel like continuing with.

Are you yawning today? Maybe you need a nap...

Thanks, I appreciate it! I find it interesting how less-than-ideal states of mind seem to be what I find most encouraging when it comes to trying new things. Gives me enough of a push to step into something a bit out of my comfort zone, so there is growth and good in it all as well. :)

I'm glad to hear the little guy is doing okay, and that he is responding to you so positively! When Sarge started responding that way to me when we took him in, and he would suckle on the inside of my elbow like I was his mama, it was the most endearing thing. Got my heart right quick!
*Big return hugs*
