I ordered a book for university with a major online retailer, but when I took it to class last Friday we discovered it was actually a reprint on demand rather than the original book. This reprint is quite possibly illegal because the copyright of the original hasn't even expired yet ... and it cost me thirty euros at that! It also has some other problems like missing pages and no endnotes.

Hahaha, I've already been scolded for my avatar change! Owl and Moon are not pleased. :P But I wanted to change things up a little. And don't worry, the original Fearful avatar is just on an extended holiday to Hawaii, to return when I get tired of this one.

Yep, it's super busy, but it's all good. I still have to get started on writing an essay that needs to be handed in on Friday ... :P

Yep, the final hurdle is them manually authorizing a refund because the period in which I was allowed to return the book has already expired. I'm hopeful they'll just approve it, though, as they acknowledge that it's a mistake and they've said they'll remove the book from the website.

I remember reading that Amazon was looking into print on demand, and that authors and publishers were angry about it as print on demand is inferior quality and they don't want that quality representing their books. I hope you can get a refund and an original genuine copy of the book.

I don't talk about my health if I can help it as nothing much has changed, and I don't want to keep making things about me or make the place seem a bit down. I am doing good, thank you. I had a lovely weekend with my partner. I am trying to keep myself awake more, although the last time I did that it back fired. But I want to keep trying, as I hate sleeping on and off during the day.

Yeah, the quality of this one isn't too terrific either. And it's even more strange that they're doing this while the copyright of this edition is still in effect. I just got an e-mail that they're manually initiating my return procedure, and that I'll get my money back when they receive the book. Faith in customer services restored! I won't be able to get a hold of the original is it is out of print (as I found out the hard way :P) but it's no big deal, as my teacher is posting scans of his book online.

I'm okay. I'm a bit tired and it's a gloomy, rainy day, but I'm drinking a nice mug of tea now which is chereing me up. Now I just need to get started on that essay. :P

That is good, and sorry to hear the book is out of print. I hope the scans will be good enough for you to do the work. I used to hate trying to get old of books while at university, they always seemed to pick hard to get ones, or ones that cost a fortune.

Thank you. I want to be back at work to be honest. I really hate been cooped up at home all day. The one great part about being ill is that I get to spend the mornings with my wife and wake up with her, rather than be out early. But I do miss work. I have visited my partners and the farm a few times while I have been ill, but I miss the animals and my work and things. :-(

A cherry? I can beat that. *thinks of something better than a cherry* I know!
