AgentBirdnest: I hope whatever new med he tries will work out much better.
Well, glad you changed the avatar, because it helped me have the courage to post myself ;-) As for "losing track", I always get used to it by the end of the day. And yours is really a cool pic :-)

Curious - what was the badass weapon you found in New Vegas? I've put about 600 hours into that game (which is second only to Deus Ex for me :-p) so I'm pretty sure I know most of the weapons by now :-)
Thanks! And yeah, I've actually noticed lately that, when folks have changed their avatars, I've been able to keep track. Mind you, a big part of that is that I only frequent this thread these days, and not the forums at large, which would be more keeping track than I could do with any confidence. :)
I am tempted to steal your hand/wrist warmer, as it looks awesome and incredibly comfortable (and I hate actual gloves when my hands are cold) by the way. :)
The weapon in New Vegas was called Euclid's C-Finder, I think... looks like an old 50's toy "ray gun" but channels the power of the sun. Can only be used once ever 24 hours, and I had to go through hell to get it (I've been treating the game more like a sandbox than like an RPG, but something somewhere along the line in getting that weapon made me really curious, oh!.. It was having to decide where to route solar power at maybe HELIOS One... saw that routing to Archimedes II was necessary to get an awesome weapon, and was suddenly on a new mission. Took a while, but finally got it and tried it out a couple times, and it is incredibly good fun.
I have to say, I'm liking New Vegas more than FO3, and a lot more than I would have ever expected to like either. I enjoy shooters every now and then, but other than the Mass Effect trilogy and, to some degree, Borderlands 2, I'm just not one to get wrapped up in them. The V.A.T.S. system really makes the whole FPS concept much more manageable for me, though. I don't always have to rely on my natural response time and somewhat lousy fine motor control. :)

Good point about avatars. When I venture into the rest of the forums, I see like 14 different vault boy avatars. Much easier to keep track in here :-)
Ah... The fingerless mittens. Excellent at warming hands, but with open fingers to type and play games... Knitted by none other than our lovely Owl :-) They really came in handy when I was having chills everyday from medication withdrawals a couple months ago. I'm afraid I'm quite attached to them now :-p
Hooo... yes... The C-finder. Reminds me of the ion cannon from the C&C series. Insanely awesome weapon! I love the hell out of New Vegas. I loved Fallout 3 too, but after playing New Vegas, I found it difficult to go back to the Capital wasteland. It has some really outstanding DLC in my opinion, too. Plus, with the eighty-gabillion and three mods, there is even more to do... I never get tired of that game :-)

I remember that one, alhtough I never managed to use that space gun since the times I restored power to helios one I always diverted it to McCarran or somewhere else. It's gotta be fun being able to orbital laser an entire area.

Glad to see that CFFA song again ..... but that song??? :)

CarrionCrow: Must suppress urge to beat...camera with....claw hammer!!!!!!!

Bit too late for that, though. Already said it was working. Painted myself into a corner on that one.

FearfulSymmetry: Come on Crow, you can do it!
Yeah, come on Crow! Show that camera who the REAL boss is!

Went to the UPS warehouse to get my packages and man oh man...the boxes were beaten and ripped and torn and looked like the driver had a real bad grudge against them, like they'd thrown the boxes out of the truck while it was going down the interstate a few times. Luckily there were only clothes in them, but still...

The fingerless mittens are awesome! I love the cold, but I always end up with chills when the nausea issues lead to withdrawal from meds. Probably the only time I'm ever uncomfortably cold. I'm still trying to figure out why on earth I moved to Florida, of all places, when I can't stand the heat at all. Found a hell of a lady down here, though, and a handful of great friends, so I can't complain too much. :)
I have high hopes for the DLC, as I loved the DLC in Fallout 3. I'd have a hard time going back to the Capital wasteland as well, as New Vegas just seems so much bigger (and more interesting to explore, especially since there aren't quite as many underground tunnels, which became a pretty boring place to be in FO3.)

It's quite fun, though I haven't really made good use of it yet. I have big plans for it, though, as there is an alpha male something-or-other (Deathclaw maybe? I never know what I'm actually remembering and what I'm just making up) that handed me my ass repeatedly a few levels ago that really needs a good hurtin'. ;)
