j0ekerr: I was fine until I read about your hospital experiences and that asshole doctor who even tried to turn things on their head by playing the race card and act the victim part. That last bit was what really got me raging. So many people nowadyas use it as a shield away for their own incompetence and faults.

Now I want to kick some labcoat-wearing asshole right in the nuts.
Curbstomp, I'm telling you. If you do it enough, it stands to reason that you'll fry the part of their brain that's infected with dipshittedness. (Or, ya know...kill them. Maybe. Fuck it, omelets, broken eggs, you know the line.)

CarrionCrow: On the bright side of things, I guess it's still possible that an actual decent game could come from them again. They haven't gone out of business yet.
From what I've seen, they might still be going based on the "gawking at a trainwreck" response that a lot of their titles seem to generate.

j0ekerr: Aren't these guys the perps who unleashed that cat game?
Yes, yes they are.
I took a look at itch.io and saw this.

CarrionCrow: The educational curbstomping they seem to be in dire need of probably won't happen, because it's an unfair world where all my really good ideas get shot down as being too psychotic. But at least they should get some kind of punishment.

Nah. Already have everything I want from it. The odds are not in my favor anymore for sales.
From what I have been told, it all could lead to him being struck off. Normally we would not make a big deal out of it, but we decided to push the whole issue of him being homophobic a bit more than we normally do, mostly due to him trying to deny things and accuse us of acting out of malice due to his race. It's not something I like doing, but I am so angry at him and I want to make sure he gets punished for his behaviour.

That is true. There are a few games that have a glimmer of appeal to me, but I will need to have a closer look at them. I like the idea of the Paradox games, but I do not have the time, nor the motivation anymore for such games with the amount of micro-managment required. So they are out, along with many other games with high level of micro-managment.

I know, all those damn uncultured foreigners… *looks around and notices I am the only English person here* :-)

Only joking, but I agree with you. Sadly people play the minority card a lot these days, be it race, colour, sexuality, just about anything. If they can use it to get something or to try to excuse their behaviour then they will. But try not to let it get to you, I am used to jerks like him and that kind of abuse. Normally I would have just shrugged it off, but not given who he is and the whole situation.

Sorry if me mentioning it has soured your day a little, that was not my intent. Please just forget I mentioned it and continue having a lovely day.

Hey DD, just check you chat please? :)

ddickinson: How are you enjoying the Witcher 3, are you still working through the game or have you finished it now?
Still enjoying it, if I can find the time. It's strange - I'd never though after ~25 years of gaming some game could be that impressive and enthralling to me. There are so many things to love about this game, it would fill pages to list them.

I think the most important thing is that the game really has soul, and that you can really feel the love and obsession and hard work people have put in it. Very unusual for an AAA title - most of the time only small-team (or single dev) indie games convey this feeling nowadays.

You and your partner being angry is completely understandable. Not only is the person a piece of shit, they're a weaselly, spineless piece of shit who'd rather lie to save their own ass than be honest about how they feel.

Yeah...Paradox games aren't really known for having the most gentle of learning curves. Not much point in spending money on things you won't play due to their ability to drive you insane.

Additional - Think it's time to grab some sleep since the sale was a bust.
Have a good day, everyone. =)

ddickinson: The newer doctors I have not are a lot better. My partner became so angry at the previous one, who seemed to think it was acceptable to keep referring to us on official medical documents as the lipstick lesbians. My partner especially hates us being labelled like that and that is one of the main reasons we took things further with our complaints. It's not the only comment like that he made, both on documents and to us personally. He tried to deny most of it, but others had heard him. He then tried to imply we were making it up to be racist so we could have a white English doctor, but that is not the case at all. The doctor is just a prejudice and incompetent jerk. The doctors I saw before I left the last time were much better, and seemed to know what they are doing.
What a dick - good to hear you got rid of him. But it's incredibly stupid to write something like that on medical documents and then trying to deny it. Sounds like some regular participant in the #gamergate-thread ;)

On the other hand it's always amusing for me as an outsider to see how deep those prejudices still are inside people. I'm regularly referred to as gay because of the way I dress, talk and behave. And when my wife dressed exclusively in men's clothes for two years some time ago people referred to her as a 'bull dyke'. So I think getting him sacked serves some educational purpose ;)

Wow, that sounds impressive. I'm still playing Witcher 1, and I think when I'm done with 2 I'll have to buy the third immediately :D

It's just my impression. I should probably add that I've read all the books (several times) and really love them too and so have kind of strong feelings about the characters and the world. And I feel that CDPR managed to really bring this world and people to live. The game literally brought me to tears at some point, because I care about the characters so much. I can't really imagine playing the game without knowing the books (poor English speakers still have to wait years until all are available) - since people like Ciri and Yennefer who are central to the books didn't show up in the first games. So I don't know how you would feel about the story of Witcher 3 without the deep ties that I developed reading the books.

I've read the first two books and already think it's impressive how well the world is implemented in the first game. So I think it's really my game :D
So I just found out that you can't ride the train in Saints Row 2....but you CAN derail it!

A shame the game runs like shit on my machine. SR3 works well, though.

Which is as should be, there are few things I find as disgusting as victimized hypocrisy, he deserves whatever might happen to him.
DON'T even think of apologizing for that sort of thing, you have not soured anything, in my case I just got refilled with furnace hot rage, which is a natural state of being for me anyways. Besides the news already do a good enough job of ruining my day.

Might I ask if you have the Steam version?

NoNewTaleToTell: Might I ask if you have the Steam version?
No, I don't use Steam. Bought it them here, right after the release. Problem is, I get only ~20 fps indoor and 8-12 fps walking through the city. Unplayable.
