Got my first smartphone today while switching to just about the only carrier left (in the U.S.) that offers unlimited data. It's...not bad, it actually sounds better at times than my laptop. Not that that is a big deal, my laptop has that awful Realtek Audio soundcard that Toshiba shoves into the Satellite series laptops.

BillyMaysFan59: I know I'm anxious for a big sale that includes Elder Scrolls games. Of course that likely won't happen for a while yet......

Holiday Sale perhaps? Or Insomnia?

--Conversational Free-For-All Thread Song of the Day--

I bless the rains down in Africa

(we've gotten a fair share of rain here as of late :P)
avatar
CarrionCrow: Maybe at the holiday sale. That's 4 months away, might be a long enough time. Can't really bank on Insomnia since there's never any idea when it's happening until it's about 10 minutes away from starting. If they only do that once a year we won't see that kind of promo for quite a while.
Rains down in Africa? Preposterous! Next thing you'll tell me that there are men coming from a land down under.
Somehow I always got a the vibe that we would get two insomnia sales this year. But even if we don't, there's always the fall/Halloween sale. Which still probably means two to three months at least.
PS: using the phone because I'm too lazy to switch on the computer.

ElTerprise: Yes. It's not really logical.. but afaik Steam sells the censored European PEGI version and not the American one of Airborne. But W3D and RTCW are also technically not strictly region locked. It's possible to install and play them and i think it might be even possible to redeem keys of them in Germany....the whole situation is a mes...
I'm not sure about the reasons of region locking because both Dead Rising 2 +3 (and Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition) are also region locked probably because of high violence....

Well would you consider both Indiana Jones and Inglorious Basterds or something like Iron Sky educational?
But it's true. I remember that from Inglorious Basterds where the Posters had to be edited...
Region locking on Steam has many stages. You can prevent a storepage from appearing to a certain region, or you can prevent activation to a certain region, or you can even hide games from a library when on a certain region. Needless to say, it can be highly infuriating.

As for the movies, I suppose I could say "educational", as Inglourious Basterds was the example that I had in mind.
Good morning!

*hugs and waves*

Got kind of a hangover... Usually I can stomach four beers in five hours well, but I think I had not enough to eat last night...

Not to forget, you can enforce censored versions in certain regions... That's something that sucks big time for Germans.

Depends on what you call a beer. For example I can handle 4 beers in one hour, if said beers come in individual quarter litre bottle form. If by beer you mean those large tankards served by buxom ladies in the funny clothes then I salute you. Brew Meister.

Blame Mrs Merkel for that one, in fact I already do. For EVERYTHING, and do so with unique Mediterranean flair. Which mostly involves confusing her with a porta-potty.

I think only in Bavaria "one beer" means a "Maß" (~ 1l). In most of Germany "one beer" is half a litre, since most bottles are of that size.

How could you Sir?! I'll have you know that 40 minutes of a bunch of people sitting at a bar's table and discussing old 60s and 70s obscure TV references makes for riveting cinematographic entertainment.
Also, first cup of tea in months. The morning is finally cool enough to have warm beverages without sweating bullets.

Yeah, how could I? They were serious discussions and arguments that have a lot to do with the movie, such as whether waitresses' tips should be taxed or not.
Good morning everybody !
**Big hugs with decaffeinatedd coffee**.... =__o ..... **sigh**. (my boss is back).
How are you doing ? :)

Interesting, so most beers come in paulaner size? Over here, beers come in three sizes the "botellín " which means lil' bottle and comes in quarter and third sizes; and then you get the "litrona". Very popular among cheap drunkards, specially when warm right off the supermarket's shelf. Try to guess its size.
