That sounds thoroughly unpleasant. For me it just feels like I have strips of scorched skin.

Mine tends to peel a couple days after the burn. That's not pleasant.

Indeed. I'm usually pretty careful: sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, etc.

But sometimes I forget the hat and since I'm rather... sparse in the hair-on-the-head department, I sometimes inadvertently boil that egg that rolls around in my brainpan and serves as an ersatz CPU.

That happens to me from time to time when I cut my hair off. It's good in a utilitarian, no-maintenance sort of way, but balanced out by my inevitably turning my skull into something resembling a boiled lobster.

Also, you're the one in charge. They work for you. If you get a bad feeling, walk away and get a dentist who doesn't project the creep vibe. (Unless you've got some ongoing emergency-type thing. Tooth pain's bad enough that you might want to bite the bullet rather than wait.)

Fortunately it's just check-up.
