Fell asleep early last night. but here's a very late compliment :p

Sorry to hear that. *fingers crossed* that you'll get good news soon. Consider burning the building down when you move out ;-)

ElTerprise: Hello *return wave*
Good to hear that you're doing atleast okay but sorry to hear about the issues with your roommates. *fingers crossed* that you can move asap :)
avatar
penumbren: Trust me, if the house belonged to the roommate and not a landlord that we actually like, I'd be tempted. As it is, we may be calling the police, due to the roommate. (But only once we aren't around to directly deal with her.)

Now... to figure out why Pool of Radiance starts up and then gets stuck on the "Now loading..." screen. O.o
Hi!
Did you get Pool of Radiance to work?
I just tried it yesterday and at least the character creation went fine as it should...
You could send a ticket to support... It's an awesome - although quite dated graphically - old rpg game, I'm upset if you aren't getting your share! :p

Also, if you get it to work and need any tips with the mechanics - me and probably other old geezers are available ;)

I did, just a bit ago. It really doesn't want to run in full screen on my computer, for some reason. Now I just have to get DOSbox to slow down a bit so that it doesn't skip past the first few screens. I'll be picking it up tomorrow, since I'm a bit tired tonight and just finishing watching a few more episodes of Doctor Who. (I've finally got through all of Eleven - series 7 was MUCH better than 5 or 6 - and am now very happily getting into series 8, which is the one I was looking forward to.)

Alright good to hear. It would probably be fair to say you are a Doctor Who fan :)
I have almost such dedication with It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, watched 4 seasons and halfway to the fifth.

And if you don't know already: It should be easy to change the speed of the dosbox, if you locate the correct dosbox configuration file somewhere in the game's folder. Also you can use the function keys to change it in-game (ctrl + F11/F12) but then you'd have to do that everytime you start the game.

Yep, kinda. XD I actually like the older Who series better, but my collection is currently in storage. I'm most of the way through Four's era but haven't been able to get hold of them to keep watching for a while.

That's where I changed it to be windowed by default, but I can't find a speed setting. The DOSBox Configurator has two tabs: Basic Settings, which only has a Graphic Mode dropdown and a checkbox for Full Screen; and Advanced Settings, with checkboxes for Keep Aspect Ratio and Double Buffering, dropdowns for Scaling Engine and Window Resolution, and a slider for Mouse Sensitivity.
Oh, the joy of backing up files. It's a quiet activity, which is good. But I had to unplug my fan to plug in the external hard drive, which is bad since it's still 90 degrees in here. I wonder if I can get everything done before I start resembling a 6 foot long puddle again.

Alrighty. I'm not good at that graphical configuration that's often provided... I was referring to the file dosbox_por.conf in the game folder. you can find the '[cpu]' written somewhere along the list and there are some notes that can help you. I'm not an expert, but changing the 'cycles' from 'auto' to some thousand might do the trick. If you think it's too fast then try cycles<4000, maybe 2000?
Good morning everyone .
Taking a break from Skyrim. Good god it never ends.

I recently did a 3TB backup of my stuff. Took a couple days but it needed doing.

My porn is safe now

I don't envy you that one bit. Did a little over a terabyte to get my GOG backed up and it ran for 10 hours straight.
*tired hugs and waves*
Good morning everyone *big tired hugs and waves* :)

Hm...that makes sense...actually didn't think of that :).

*tired return hug* Yeah I first also did not not notice that, but after a lot of drama threads and deleted stuff I noticed that rep from people never changed :D
