GR00T: Interesting times around our house. My youngest daughter has a badly sprained ankle (this occurred on Sunday), so is limping around wearing one of those Aircast boots, and now my wife just got the first of three knee injections, so she's limping around as well. I feel like I'm in triage.
Sheesh. I can see why you'd feel that way. Figuring it'd be hard not to when just about everyone has some kind of mobility-damaging injury. Hopefully the trend takes a break so people can recover.

ElTerprise: Good evening Crow. Day was mostly good but getting home from work (which was okay) in a hot and overcrowded train was really annoying. But i'm doing good otherwise. How are you?
You have more patience than I do. Would be climbing the walls dealing with that after working.

Can't complain here, slowly making my way through that initial getting to know the town part of Hong Kong. Fortunately the writing is good, so it's enjoyable.

And for your daily dose of "this band never really went anywhere and only recorded rough demos but were cool" here is Radio Scarlett with Sir Rotts a Lott https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=59vcWnHsaXs

Thanks, Crow. It's been a shitty damned year and this is just the latest. At least it's not all that serious, anyway.

Well i'm living in the city all my life so I'm used to these situations and i don't have an alternative to public transportation. Yes it's definitely annoying but decided to to keep calm and listen to music and/or read regardless whether i can sit or have to stand in the train :)

Glad to hear that. That sounds promising. Looking forward to play that game as well :)

Not a problem. Been there, done that, and it tends to feel like it won't ever stop. It will, though.

For me it's a combo of bad nerves and lack of experience in a real city. At least you've got a better approach to it all than freaking out. -laughs-

It's good so far. Still just getting started, but I'm already preferring the Matrix setup compared to how it was in Dragonfall.
This time around, you're moving in real time, trying to avoid detection programs. Every time you get spotted, you have to blow out the watchers before more spot you. Once you get spotted a certain number of times, the attack programs pop out and they have to be dealt with. But, if you can manage to stealth your way through, you can also crack open blocker programs by way of doing puzzle sequences rather than brute force combat. It flows much faster to me with it being set up that way.

Yes...freaking out in a train during could trigger unforeseen consequences i'm not to keen on trying out ;)
Sounds like Harebrained is really trying to improve the mechanics which is really good.

Good idea. Getting tasered probably isn't how you want to spend your off-work hours.

Yes, there is more polish to it. Voiced cinematics, more in-depth writing, revamping some of the systems.
It doesn't mesh with the pen and paper version, but they included a skill called cyberware affinity that allows a character to add on implants beyond the usual maximum along with adding access to certain cyber-weapons, which is nice. Aside from going mostly bioware, it wasn't possible to cram too many implants into a character in Dragonfall before their essence ran out.
Any suggestions for a really engaging game? I need to distract myself...

Thankfully i haven't seen the local police using tasers but apparently it's is possible (atleast it's legal for the police to use them)
but i was talking more of getting beat up or something like that :)

That's always good and especially when an indie developer manage to do that. Granted that should be standard but actually improving a game in the right spots and polishing it even more is something especially Triple-AAA games often lack...
The question would be then (and for video game adaptions of tabletop games in general): How close does it need to be to the original?

Well...it's not a great game by any means, but Braveland Wizard provides just enough mental stimulation that you don't feel like you're staring at a blank screen. It's like twiddling your thumbs, only with mouse clicks added.

Well that depends on the genre. Any preferences?

Depends on how much of a purist the player is. I'm noticing it, but I'm not going to get irrationally upset about it. Also, paying skill points for it does balance things out a bit. I want more cyber, so I'm taking points I could be dropping on attributes or other skills to increase that capacity.

True. In my case - i wouldn't even notice it because i never played the tabletop - actually i never played any tabletop game (as long we're talking tabletop != boardgame).

Already played that a few weeks ago. And while it was nice, it is not something I would consider useful for really distracting myself ;-)

RPG, Adventure, Puzzle something like that.

What about a Rayman game ? Although i guess you already played all of them....
Or something like Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones. FInd them sometimes helpful in such situations :)
