hello! new to this site but saw some cool games and was interested in buying the dungeon keeper games as i am such a fan and have been wanting to play the game for a while now. Although its difficult to find and hard copies can be quite expensive...

i have never bought from this site before and only use to steam or buying hard copy game from places such as amazon or GAME. SO my question is, is this a legit site? ive seen quite a few messages saying that i shouldn't? on the other hand this community seems large and so must be good? right?

thank you for reading folks!

j0ekerr: Am I the only one having problems with the locale setting?

It's not available in my settings and I've got everything showing up in dollars.
No, you're not. Other people have been dealing with the same problem.

Try logging out, clearing your cookies and logging in again. Site is a bit wonky at times.

CarrionCrow: Hope it doesn't suck too badly. Talk with you later on. =)
Mine couldn't grasp the concept of holding two buttons while pushing a third. It went off the rails fairly quickly.
I have deemed that buttonophobia, the fear of anything more complicated than a light switch.

Yes, this is very much a legitimate site. This is not a key reseller or a grey market vendor. This is a real store with real customer support and a really good seleection of games.
Thanks Endre and Crow! :)
The Dragonlance thing!
Wasn't there even a 2D game, some kind of light-rpg platformer... :)
Uh... Well this coming boozeless winter should be going just fine now :)

Yes this is a legit site. It has been around since 2008. And where did you read messages that you should not buy here? Probably by people that favour DRM and clients ;-) Well the latter is not a problem anymore, the gog galaxy client is in beta at the moment.

thank you for the quick reply! have you or... anyone have problems with the customer support? i read somewhere that someone purchased a game and it was it was originally a stolen hotkey thing and couldnt get a refund. the DK games arent a massive loss if so just want to make sure im not investing into something fake D:

There were a couple that came out for the 8-bit Nintendo. From what I've heard they're pretty bad, though.

To be fair i did just google reviews on GOG.com. the first few reviews of the site i read wern't exactly inviting haha but going round the site it really doesnt seem bad from my impressions

What you read is people buying games on shady keyseller sites, redeeming them here and then wanting back money from gog even if they did not buy the game here and should have the talk with their keyseller ;-)
Support is normally good even if it is sometimes a bit slow.

Did it (again I must add), and this time I was able to see the pop-down menu button for the currency setting, which wasn't available last time, leaving me stuck with dollars.

You're welcome. =)

My advice would be to avoid the key resellers when it comes to GOG. If you're not getting it from here, you run the risk of something going wrong. GOG has no authorized key resellers, so if you see keys they're coming from grey market vendors who might be using stolen credit cards to get codes.
There are sales here frequently. Every Monday to Wednesday, and every Friday to Monday, and that's not counting large sales that show up every few months. You can save a lot of money along with being confident that every game purchase is legal and valid by shopping directly from the store here.
Wait, does that mean I can pay in dollars if I want to now? Where does that leave regional pricing? What the hell is going on?

Everybody start hollering and engage in a "we're all gonna die!" mad orgy of frenzied destruction.
