EndreWhiteMane: Brain's too asleep yet so I'm just browsing around and listening to some music.
That game gets some pretty nice reviews but I'm failing to see why in the videos.
In other words being lazy and killin' time. ;)
That also sounds familiar. Not awake, burning some discs, just deleted some games since it's clear that I've played them to the point that I have no desire to go back to them, now thinking on what to install to replace them.
Lots of crap that means very, very little in any grand scheme of things.

EndreWhiteMane: Hiya Ghost, good to see you.
Enjoy those games. :-)
Aloha Endre!

I definitely had a good time with Icewind Dale, it's a slog-fest, almost constant battle. I barreled through with my party and missed a few things (including one whole area I almost missed completely). And almost played through it again, but I've never played through ID 2, despite having the disc version long before joining GoG. heh!

Also trying to squeeze in a casual run through metro 2033 before going back to the retro backlog... so keeping busy game-wise, to fill the void of adding new games to the collection. heh!

The Anno games look really good. couldn't talk myself out of getting them, but at least I was able to wait till today to get them. heh!

What's been on your gameplay menu as of late? Getting pressed by the call of the backlog too?

CarrionCrow: Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone.

Hopefully you're all doing okay today at the very least.
Howdy Crow! Hope you are doing well and have been able to avoid the heat, humidity and summer storms!

Did you finish Pillars of Eternity? How goes it?

Hey there. =)

Not a lot of humidity here usually, aside from some sudden downpours that pass within a few hours. Definitely got the heat, it's been in the mid 90's to 105 every day for months now unless it's been raining.

Pillars of Eternity got buried in the backlog. Geared up to play it, then the summer sale hit. Between people's generosity and my apparent inability to avoid sales, ended up with 90 more games. It's still on the list to be sure, but it'll probably waiting since the first expansion for it is coming out soon.
The next high priority RPG for me is Shadowrun Hong Kong. Pre-ordered that one, just a little over 3 days left til release. Once that's out, I'll be playing it exclusively.

It's been in the 90's and upper 80's for most of July and early August, but humid here. The last three days were over 100... no passing storms in my immediate area, but they've been popping up to the east and north though. The days are getting shorter though, thankfully. :)

90 more games! Wow!

I've got quite a few games still installed, ready to go, and a few in mid-play too, that are waiting on the list. Some I've even re-started a few times but won't un-install them till I get through them. heh!

So now that you have made some space, uninstalling those games that you know you won't go any further, what are your highest priority "to get to play through" list?

Hopefully it goes back down to the 80's. 100+ degrees every frigging day gets old fast.

Yeah...went a little nuts on that one. Fortunately I can't do that again, since my list doesn't have 90 items and I'm not going to start buying things I don't really want.

Thinking of getting into some adventure games - the classic Lucasarts titles, Grim Fandango, stuff that's fun without taking 50 to 80 hours to clear.

You mentioned Icewind 2, that's a good game. Much more enjoyable than the original, in my opinion.

There is a "right time and place" for games that don't take 30 hours or more to finish, that's for sure... heh!

Icewind Dale 2 seems to have gone back to the RPG roots, but I've only just begun to explore it. Lots more choices for races and classes, plus very flexible in the kinds of characters you can create with the skill sets. Thus far the action seems to be just as good as ID 1. These old 2d games are just the thing to run on hot days as well, since they don't even get the fan going on the video card... :)
Hi

Just dropping in to say good night. Alarm is set for 6 AM, local time is almost 11 PM and I still have to get myself "ready" for bed.

*Sleepy hugs and tired waves* ;-)

Thanks a lot! And good to see you too.

Currently all my free time* goes into Witcher 3. It is just a such amazing... game. I say this reluctantly because "game" still sounds like something arbitrary. For me it's an experience, like a great novel, or - what to compare... I don't know.

I'm 40 years old and play computer games since 1986 and rarely a game has grabbed me by the throat and dragged me in like this.

*meaning: Not working and not spending time with the family, the latter could also count as "free time" but I'm using the term in the context of "time solely for myself". I've been spending quite a lot of the time with wife and kids in the last weeks and I sure don't want to miss it. ;-)

-laughs- I understand what you mean.

That's one hell of an endorsement for a game. When my computer can run it, I won't waste any time in purchasing it.
