ElTerprise: Thank you. I hope so too :)

Yes. I actually knew that much but UQm HD sounds pretty interesting. I've never played Star Control II (but i want to as i bought it here)
I will do some research about it :)
Can i assume that UQM HD runs on LInux?
Of course. Have a look at their website if you wish

Good. Huh...interesting. uBlock Origin apparently blocks Sourceforge....that's new...

I download the game right now...

BTW: I think i'll go with Debian first but i keep and eye on Arch :)
I think I will get some sleep. Take care, people of the thread. Have a lovely evening!

Good :) So you own Star Control 1+2 on GOG? Star Control 2 is pretty much the same game as UQM, only UQM is free, is cross platform, comes with nice enhancements, and is available in that HD version. Star Control 1 isn't available anywhere else though, AFAIK.

Debian should be easier to get into. Arch would be a more radical jump from user friendliness, but yes do keep an eye on it. Setting it up would be a good learning experience. I would at least recommend having a look at the Arch Wiki.

Looking forward to give UQM HD a shot :)

Well i looked at the Arch Wiki and it was frankly a bit overwhelming for me right now. But i stil want to try it out at some point. I'm sure it'll be a good learning experience. But i still don't know if i should use KDE for Debian or something like XFCE or MATE ( looked at that one as well). I think i'll use a live cd before installing debian :)

Are you using the Linux or Windows version? If you're doing it on Linux Mint the DEBS should work.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/urquanmastershd/files/Beta%201/debs/

Glance through the readme there, some important instructions you shouldn't miss. You could also try... *gasp*... compiling from source :D

So that's a pretty safe, legit download?

Endre mentioned the game to me not too long ago (I've been dying to play a "Starflight-like" game but Starflight just looks a bit too dated for me to enjoy it). There's a nice upcoming game that looks like it's almost but not quite going to fit the bill (something Galaxies?) but that is who knows how far off and still lacking in some of the character and greater story of a Star Control.

Seeing you guys talk about Ur Quan HD is making me think this should finally be the night to give it a download. Figured I should just double check to make sure it's all on the up and up as far as file safety goes!
Well, hell. Looking on Netflix, and they have enough movies on-hand for an almost full Tarantino retrospective. And it'll only take roughly 15 hours to watch them all.
I was always partial to Reservoir Dogs, personally.
I think i'm going to sleep now. Good Night everyone!

Currently i only have Windows available because i haven't set up the Dual boot after installing Windows 10. But i want to install Linux on the weekend. Bookmarked the site. Compiling from source sounds interesting :)
Screw it I'm just going to go download it - wish me (and my computer!) luck ;)

It holds up years later. Can't say that for a lot of movies.

I like the multiple elements of Kill Bill volume 1. It feels like Tarantino had too much coffee and too little editing for volume 2.
Fortunately Netflix doesn't have Grindhouse online, since Death Proof is one movie of his I won't watch again. Shit was painful to sit through the first time.

Today marks the one week away point from my next birthday.
aw did i miss a Tarantino discussion? poop.
Hello everybody, hope the time of day is treating you well, or well enough that you can lie and say it's treating you well!

The best part of doing any creative art work is the back and forth dueling thoughts of "This is turning out great!" and "Wow this really sucks!". Totally worth it in the end, especially if your project actually doesn't suck.

I've decided to take a chance on CDF Ghostship after seeing a few videos, I'll let you folks know whether or not it's absolute trash or actually good.

She Who Fights Monsters is a neat little donationware/pay what you want game that I finished a few months ago. It's fairly short, maybe an hour or two in length but well worth a playthrough. http://gamingpixie.itch.io/she-who-fights-monsters
