ddickinson: It's a lot less here now. Earlier on the temperature was very high, but since this cold wind and a bit of rain it seems to have dropped quite a lot. We are due storms, but I prefer that over the heat, although both can be a bother to work in.
I can imagine that. Well i had two appointments today and it wasn't that great to work - although the trains had working air conditioning... but the people were really annoyed by the weather...

And I'd prefer a similar weather you descrbied as well...:)

I can imagine people being annoyed by the weather. Hot weather is okay if you are just relaxing in the shade, but not when you have things to do.

I am hoping we are over this weeks heatwave. Moon said it was due to last until next week for many parts of Europe.

Exactly - but i makes my job definitely. Today was the day with the most refusals ever....

I hope so too because we'll have that heatwave until next thursday or so....

I hope the heatwave will be over quickly for you, or at least start to get cooler. One nice thing about being an island is that we often have nice strong winds. We get a lot of bad weather being an island as well, but at least for now the cold wind is a benefit.

You're right. You're in a better position than most other Europeans :)
But frankly the weather / climate in Hamburg is pretty much maritime instead of continental which makes tolerating those heatwaves definitely easier than in other parts of Germany. Which doesn't mean that the are temperatures are still too high tough :).

Pretty quiet here overall. Ran around, covered some errands, that's about it.

Sounds like you've got a good plan for staying cooler. Try to avoid heat exhaustion as you're riding around or engaging in sports.

I think I will call it a night. I am up in 4 hours and tomorrow should be quite busy. Hopefully we will have weather like we have now, with a lovely cold wind.

But frankly the weather / climate in Hamburg is pretty much maritime instead of continental which makes tolerating those heatwaves definitely easier than in other parts of Germany. Which doesn't mean that the are temperatures are still too high tough :).
It is nice being further north, we miss out on a lot of the hot weather, but we do tend to get winters a little worse. I think it's a nice trade off. :-)

Well best idea probably would be to stay in the cool basement but that's not realistic due to work and university...:)
Sports was great and the gym was surprisingly quite cold as well...but public transport is a pain when it's hot...

It's fluctuating a bit. Somewhat cooler, then hotter again.
