ddickinson: Good evening!

How is the weather? Still very hot?

My day has been very good. Work was quite slow, mainly tending to the animals and paperwork due to it being the end of the month, but things will get more busy during the week. Other than that my day has been great. I am still nice and happy from my long weekend with my partner.
Yes, the weather still feels like being slow roasted. Only 2 more months to go of it, though. I'm sure they'll just fly by...

Slow days are good sometimes. Gives you a chance to not feel like you're being run into the ground with work.

Long weekends are much better, though. Happy to hear that yours was such a good one. =)

Vnlr: Good midnight thread inhabitants! *tired hugs*

I hope I didn't royally piss anyone off with my communist hatred post?

Anyway, I'm listening to some khachaturian to close of the day.

Is someone else still up and about? :p
Good evening. =)

Yes, you offended me terribly. ;)

ddickinson: *Looks at clock* Nope, still not midnight here. :-)

You might have pissed people off, but don't let it bother you. People are always quite strange when it comes to political views, much like religious views. The nice thing about this thread is that people can be honest and open, just as long as it's done in a respectful way.

How are you this evening?

*return hug*
It's currently 00:07 on my pc's clock ... I'll be going to bed soon but for the sake of D&D which ended only about an hour ago I had another cup of weak coffee. I would rather sit here chatting a bit and letting it wear off instead of spasting about my bed with energy to spare ;)

The best friend arrived around 4 pm, and since that hour till 11 pm the players have been hunting after a shapeshifter through an elvish cityscape. I'd drop them a hint but were all having such a blast trying to find out who in their surroundings the doppelganger was and trying out supposedly loose ends that I didn't.

My little brother is a real genius at shutting down his brain and roleplaying a drunk dwarf who has trouble keeping up with his surroundings, It makes you wonder wether there isn't really something amiss in his head :D

edit: done formulating this post, and it's 00:15 now

It has started getting warmer here, not as hot as you, but still getting hot, and being out most of the day in the sun is not always easy, especially with such a physical job. What kind of top temperatures do you normally get during summer?

Slow days are nice. I usually try to make the start of the week more slow to ease me back in to work after my Sunday off. The hot days can make things harder, especially making sure the animals are okay, with food, water, shade, and things like that. It can be a problem for the crops as well, but generally most crops are quite hardy and can manage okay, provided the weather is not too bad.

Thank you. Long weekends are lovely, but they make it so hard being back at work. :-)

It sounds like you had a very fun evening. I have never played anything like D&D, the closest I cam would have been playing Warhammer 40,000 with my brothers, or usually just watching them play while I was reading the Codex and books.

Do you play and enjoy a lot of D&D?
Once you find the right group pen and paper RPGS are amazing. I personally have had sessions that started in the late afternoon and ended after the sun came up the next morning.

Around here, the maximum is usually 106-108F. (41.1 to 42.2C)

Makes sense. With your workload, transition days help buffer the whiplash of going from resting to 12+ hours of work, I'm sure.

-laughs- Undoubtedly. The better the downtime, the harder it is to do other things.
Given the option of working versus enjoying time with loved ones, the emotional response will always be the latter.
hi
I'm of to bed now, dear people ...

I hope you all have a very fun night/morning/evening wherever you live ;)

Good night!

That is very hot. I think the maximum for here is about 35C (95F?). I am not a fan of very hot days. I don't mind summer, and I love nice summer walks and things like that, but if there is no nice breeze then the days can just be too hot to enjoy.

It is not always possible to sort my workload like that, but it does help to get back to my 12+ hour days.

I am hoping to be able to have a full week of with my partner in mid-late July, which should be great. It will be the first time in a long time that I have had a whole week off. I imagine going back to work after that will be quite hard. :-)

Hmm...i might need an advice. I'm thinking of getting the original Sniper Elite from the weekend promo. I played Sniper Elite V2 and enjoyed it quite a bit. My question would would the original be worth it considering it being nearly the same game as V2?

No idea. It looked like a nice game, but there were parts of it that put me off, such as the re-spawning enemies and things like that.

It looks good but i fear it might be too similar to V2. But yes respawning enemies are annoying in such games. But iirc V2 only had that to a certain degree...hoping that this is the same with this one...

Well it's not that urgent to get it in the end - i have enough games to play :)

I am sure it will appear on sale again, so if you change your mind you will have another chance to pick it up. And maybe by then you will have less games to play. :-)
