EndreWhiteMane: The Germans I've known do seem more introverted than us 'happy go lucky' Americans.
Though that varies greatly just from town to town, as I'm sure it does there.

moonshineshadow: Probably. The town where I grew up was not like that. You really had your privacy.
We have a community here referred to as 'Czech Village' or "Little Bohemia'.
They seem like a very 'happy go lucky' and outgoing people there.
I've never lived near a mostly German community though.

moonshineshadow: Ah yes. That could actually happen. Since if I remember it right, you do not have a driver licence, right? And with the horrible German public transport in the small towns, you would probably catch the first available train to a larger city :D

ElTerprise: Yes. I don't have driver's licence. Didn't need one as of yet :).
Well my problem would be that this place are just too small. I need an urban atmosphere - even the quite suburban district i'm currently living has about 23,000 inhabitants and it's not urban enough for me :)

I have to admit, I don't mind living in such a small city... as long as there is a good public transport since I don't like driving that much. So if I ever go back to such a small town, it must be a small town in Switzerland :D

Well for me it would depend on the definition of 'small' :)
