Stilton: Its amazing its taken so long to happen. Blame that on the church (no offence intended), I suppose. Over here the church always pushes its way into any kind of debate with the belief that its the only source of moral responsibility, as if the rest of us are primitives (well, I am, but I'm sure everyone else isn't...). Such an archaic institution and yet people still follow along behind with their blinkers fixed firmly in place... (no offence intended again).

Yes. But that was to be expected. Some media called it a premature final...but yes the french are really strong....

Hope GOG gets the site fixed before the next sale (September?) as I don't relish the thought of trying to fight against it as well as deciding which games will best destabilize my bank balance. I'm currently logged out, although I can still post (go figure)...


EDIT: this was posted ten minutes before it appeared. Why don't GOG fix this crap?

I'm actually (pleasantly) surprised at how much support/opposition for the issue has reversed over the last few years. Support is at 60% now, when it was only at 40% in 2009. 27% in 1996. (source : Gallup)
Not terrible progress :-) Makes me hopeful for other issues.

Things have changed a lot in that respect. But humanity being what it is, there will be a whole new set of problems to go with whatever positive change comes along. Not a very optimistic outlook, but I've been around the block a few times and seen hope take a beating when all it wanted was a better world.

Good point... Call me naive, but I like being optimistic. I spent way too much time being the opposite, and this way feels much better to me :-)
On the other hand... I've always said that if we can't switch to the metric system, I don't think we will get much else done. Such a simple change that we refuse to make... Oh well... At least we got a good one today :-)

oh yeah, and... *tickle tickle* ;-)
