doing some house cleaning here and sweating like a whore in church.
Well a lot of churches are a bit stingy with the air conditioning...
It's intensely lame to see mediocre pop stars from the 80's or 90's doing insurance commercials.
Can't help but think that they haven't gotten decent work in a very long time, making them desperate for anything.

And good morning to you too. I think you're right about the pop stars. :-)

-laughs- Good morning.

Yeah, it's not great. To see someone that was shit originally, and now they're much older, still shit, and packing a hint of sadness now that they're beating the dead horse because it's what they've got left.

There's a reason why you shouldn't be a one trick pony and stay in school, kids.

There was a chronically bad 'singer' over here called Wayne King (can you believe that?) who had the good sense to accept retirement when his short and terminally unremarkable career died. Also a complete dildo called Leo Sayer who is absolutely best forgotten. The limelight wasn't particularly kind to them then, so now it'd be more like a welder's torch running at full blast.

Guess it comes down to dignity versus money, and money frequently wins, but not always.

It’s a shame our lives are too often besieged by people whose own lives are unencumbered by talent. For some reason (pushy parents, childhood bullying, skewed self opinion?) they appear to believe that what they have to offer will be lapped up by millions. It’s the same kind of delusion/desperation which has led to the unfortunate existence of the talent show and 'real life' TV, where droves of nonentities are queueing up to clutch their fifteen minutes of fame.
Hello again everyone *big hugs and waves*
Back from university - what did i miss?

Hope you're all doing atleast ok.

moonshineshadow: Just saying that it is not such a bad game. At least the German version. No idea how bad the English translation/voice acting is. Of course it is not as good as the first two, but the fourth and fifth game are still ok adventures in my opinion.
Well i never actually played the first and the second one.

Talentless, I can deal with. It's the elevation of the despicable, the spectacle of gawking at human trainwrecks, that gets sickening in a hurry.
