Good morning people.
I'm going for a jog so *hugs and waves*.

FearfulSymmetry: *big cheer up hug* It's got to be really hard to do those things, but I'm sure that it helps the children a lot. Did they enjoy Shakespeare?

Not much, just some cleaning and final preparations for my Honours College finale tomorrow.
Sadly we did not do the Shakespeare. After what happened I was not in the right frame of mind for it. We still did some fun things, but I just couldn't do some of the more silly things, or remember the lines to the play properly. The other kids were quite sad as well, so I don't think they minded.

Do you have anything nice planned for the summer once this academic year is over?

ElTerprise: No idea but Crypt of the Necrodancer would be nice though
Definitely not my kind of game. Another indie game with horrible graphics, very high system requirements, and I wonder if it will be overpriced and regionally priced as well. But I am very cynical, if you like the look of it then that is great, hopefully it will be a lot of fun for you.

Well rougelite/roguelike whatever isn't usually my king game either but i'm really curious about the game with its music and rhythm focus...

Let's hope it is todays release then, so you can see for yourself. Will you be buying it on day 1, or wait for some reviews?

Well as had been released on Steam already (and had been in Early Access before) there are some reviews already which have been positive thus far. But i don't know yet if i'll buy it on day one - depends on the price tag and/or the release discount i guess.

Edit: Guessing is over. Ironclad Tactics and Simon the Sorcerer 4 are the releases...

I will take a look at Ironclad later, but I think I will pass on Simon the Sorcerer 4. I love the first 2, some of my favourites, but you Germans ruined the game (no offence :-)). You turned him American, and filled it with German humour that you thought would appeal to the Americans. You just spoil everything. :-)

Sorry to hear that. :( *big hug*

Not really, the trip to England was basically my holiday. Still, I'm looking forward to having time to relax and play some games and read some books. My sister might be coming to visit me for a while as well, so that should be fun.

Yes. Same here. Ironclad looks really interesting. But i'll pass on Simon the Sorcerer. And none taken :). I heard that before.

I bet you are looking forward to just relaxing and having some time to yourself. Hopefully your sister will come to visit, so you two can have lots of fun and enjoy the summer.

I one read an article about Monty Python, how they were asked to visit Germany to put on a comedy show. When they got there they were taken to a concentration camp (a very strange place to take someone. In England we would take a visitor to the museums, the palaces, the castles, but in Germany it appears death camps are high on the list. :-)). Apparently they got a little lost and asked for directions, but the locals acted as though they did not know what they were talking about (it's not the kind of place you would forget). When they finally got there they were not allowed in. One of the Pythons then joked and said "tell them we're Jewish", and apparently they let them in. I am not sure how true the article was, but it sure seemed strangely funny.

I wonder if we will be getting the 5th Simon game now that we have the 4th?

Don't know - but complete series are always good.

Not sure what to think about that story. But i can imagine that they were shown a concentration camp. But the rest of the story. Well depends on the time when they were here...and the place i guess. But usually that shouldn't happen. If that was a joke i can deal with it but many german feel uncomfortable about those kin of jokes...

I found this on Youtube. I guess this is what the article I read was based on. Again, I am not sure how true it is.

Ah. Dachau...i mean it could have happened that way and to be honest that reply from Graham Chapman to the guards is rather dark humour but quite funny in some way.

I'm off for now. Time to go to university. See you all later.

Every school class has to be taken to a concentration camp once (for a visit) in Germany and Austria. In some states it is even mandatory.

Most likely thing to have happened: It was not accessible due to restauration purposes, but families are always allowed to enter for mourning. So saying you're jewish will get you a special treatment.

That's interesting. I wonder if that is why they were allowed in, if the story is true. I would think it was just some British dark humour, but I guess the guards could have taken it for a real comment.
