moonshineshadow: I have no idea about that, so I'll just take your word on it ;-)
Well it's only my personal opinion :)
avatar
moonshineshadow: Isn't that some kind of dance thing?
avatar
GreenDamsel: As far as I know every classical dance has their own music genre matching the tact or something.
But I am 100% music-sense and music-knowledge free.
So Whatever. Could be both.
You know, you could tell me whatever you wanted. I have no clue about that :D
avatar
CarrionCrow: I think it's like dance music mixed with accordions and binge drinking.
avatar
ElTerprise: That fits - polka is from Bohemia and the Czechs are really good at drinking beer ;)
Honestly, I just thought about polka and it occurred to me that I'd have to be near blackout drunk to fully appreciate it.
I can't take any credit regarding its origin. -laughs-

Alright - i just wanted to point out that this could actually be the case :)

BTW: I really appreciate that the developers of Starpoint Gemini 2 implemented the campaign of the predecessor (what a difficult word :P) in it. But i assume that also means that the original won't be released here...
"Roll out the barrels, and we'll have a barrel of fun!"
Ah yes, the Polka, literal translation 'Polish Lady'.

The town I grew up in had a very large Polish population, we even had a weekly TV show called "Polka Varieties'.
Often described as a dance party with drinking, more accurately a drinking party with dance. :-)

This being one of the most famous ones, and the one the above quote is from.
The Bohemian equivalent of 'Line Dancing'. :-)
Edit: Or perhaps Square Dancing. ;)

Hello Endre.
Thanks for the information. It's funny that a czech/bohemian dance is named 'polish lady' ;)
And that means that Crow was correct with his description of dancing and drinking :).

I know those people had a lot of fun, probably wouldn't know a Pole from a goldfish by the end of the night. :-)

Had a lot of Polish friends growing up, great people.

Nice :-)
Goooood evening, everyone!

How are you all doing tonight?

I am feeling so much better, and a little tipsy for a few too many drinks (but that's not why I am feeling better). :-)

*big hugs and some silly waves*

But glad that you are feeling better ;-)

Has everyone else had a few drinks as well? Hmmm, that could be quite tricky, you know how guys get when they have too much to drink. :-)

It honestly is nothing to do with the drink, I did not drink too much. Drunk was perhaps a little strong, maybe just a little tipsy. I had a lovely (although short) evening with my partner and some friends to try to take my mind of things. We had some nice food, a few drinks and some dancing.

*big hug*
