j0ekerr: Doing okay here.

5 games for pretend cards? Yes, that's nice.
That works. Might as well put them to use if you can. (And don't mind any bullshit that goes along with it.)

CarrionCrow: Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone.

Hopefully the beginning of the new week is treating you well. =)
Help, I'm lost... where's the sale items wallpaper on the front page? I'm feeling some kind of withdrawal, I need to spend money on games I probably won't play because that's the deal, right? We're here to buy games and not necessarily play them? I've also develped a nervous twitch every time I see a BUY tab, and I start shaking and sweating, fearful I'll miss a deal I don't really need. Is it cold in here? Why's it so dark? And where's that strange buzzing sound coming from..?? ..... ..... ..... ...... ......

You'll be okay. Just find another shooter in your collection and play that, ride out the withdrawal until the symptoms fade. =)

Shadow Warrior 2013 was a hoot and completely recommended for some gratuitous demon slaying and humorous dialogue, if you haven't played it yet. There's a certain uplifting catharsis with well made shooters which I always find useful as a cleanser or mood lifter.

Did you finally get that collection downloaded? I've got eight games loaded currently and fully intend seeing off those and as many others as I can before the next sale rolls around. A deadline's always a good thing to get my arse in gear. That buying/playing ratio is seriously one-sided right now.

Playing it now based on your recommendation, actually. Think I'm on chapter 5 at this point.

For me, I appreciate when shooters bring that something extra to the table. Shadow Warrior definitely does that in both the gameplay and story. It's not often that I'm playing as a character with a personality I like, who happens to be carrying a sword and packing sweet special moves. (That I occasionally screw up and kill myself with since everything in that world is apparently full of fireworks and dynamite.)

Yes, finally got it all cleared. Managed to get enough extra coin for a last minute spending barrage, so I got to wait another 10 hours for it all to be done, but it's up to date and complete aside from needing to redownload the 4 gig Starpoint Gemini 2 installer for an update.
Not exactly complaining there though, since the update takes all the story missions from the first game and remakes them as missions for the second as free DLC. That sounds like a hell of a lot of work to do just for the customers' sake.

I know exactly what you mean. My completion rate is pitiful, need to increase that by quite a bit or else I'm going to have to ask myself if I really do need to buy more stuff when sales hit. I can only block out clarity with irrational spending habits for so long. -laughs-

ddickinson: Sorry to hear about your cold. I hope you start to feel better soon. But it is good to hear you have been enjoying some nice gaming. I have never played the Fallout games, but I know they are very well liked.
avatar
j0ekerr: I have yet to play the first 2, but I've read critiques by people who have played all fallout games and they all agree, the storytelling experience in the first 2 is superior by whole orders of magnitude.

Totalbiscuit said it better than I could, Bethesda is very good at creating worlds, but not necessarily at populating them.
Worlds that are all composed out of the same dungeon texture and an impermeable green, orange, or brown filter over everything to hide how ugly all the assets actually are.

Quite good - although there were more commuters than expected...
Did anyone else just see a thread about calling GOG support come and go or did I hallucinate that?

Okay now it's back. :P

Any idea why there where more? Because normally commuter numbers are quite stable or not?

Seems like you are seeing things. Comes perhaps with you being lost :D

But to be honest, I was not checking the general forum, so I have no idea.
