Yeah, it looks like the forum is lagging so people's responses don't show up immediately, then spewing them all out in chunks.

But this is a country where getting an education is maligned across sub populaces.

It's really annoying and the method of changing the posts-per-site ratio doesn't always work....

Can't say that i'm really surprised - i dare say that's somewhat a lie here as well and really envy the french for their comprehensive laicism. I'm not anti-religion but it's a private thing and not a public one and want them all treated equally (including non-believers).

Yeah, although we spend a lot of money and give a lot of lip service to education, I feel that it isn't actually considered that important here, at least in some places. The worst parts of the country in many categories, including violence/gang violence/etc, teen pregnancy, homelessness etc tend to also be the least educated and the poorest. The public schools in those areas also tend to be underfunded and understaffed.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for stricter gun control/sword control/etc (ha) and I'm in favor of laws that works toward that. However without a re-emphasis on education and change in the culture in those areas (and overall), I don't see any laws having a major effect.

The library updates system sucks the big one as well. I got a notificaton, scrolled through three pages to find the game/file (great idea GOG, don't tell me which file it is, let me search) and then when I'd downloded it I was still being told I had an update. Pants. Underpants. This is the clunkiest user unfriendly site I think I've ever toiled with.
