pimpmonkey2382.313: Still pretty tired, but good otherwise. And you? :)
I'm okay and also tired.

ddickinson: Don't worry, you can come to England and be a French spy, like Violette Reine. But hopefully you will not end up getting executed. :-)
Ho, yeah... poor Violette... :'-| ... I wouldn't like to end like that... I'd better not get caught then, I guess. >:-|

GreenDamsel: You just hit that one topic, where every German gets uncomfortable and quiet.
I'll be surprised if anyone from Germany will reply to that post, except me.^^
avatar
ddickinson: That's like a secret weapon to keep the Germans quiet. I will have to remember that. :-)

(But why uncomfortable? It's not like you all ran the camps? Did you? :-))
Germans have a huge feeling of guilt for anything that happened between 1933 and 1945.
You can go to prison for making the nazi salute, which is always a tricky topic for American tourists and "muh freedom of speech".

The death camps were usually guarded by convicts actually or foreigners, which were forcefully recruited, because they needed all the trustable German soldiers at the front.

So you know about Violette? There were many female spies during the war. Sadly many died, but they sure did some heroic things. I have quite a few on the role of women during the different wars. If I remember correctly, Violette entered the war after the Germans killed her husband. A prime example of a woman scorned. :-)

But ElT knows me well enough to tell I am joking...
I know there are taboo topics for some people ; I have none...
Sorry if I hurt you, I didn't mean it at all. I'll try to avoid WW related lame jokes, promise :-|

ElTerprise: How can you say that O.O.....I'd never do such things. Well and 'albeit' might not have been the best word to choose ;)
And aside from mixing up the personal pronouns and some declintation the german was good :)
*big-that-german-sentence-wasn't-too-bad-and perfectly-understandable-hug*
I'm ok thank you :)
Hum... I need more practise :-)
Glad you're doing ok... not better ?...

Let us not forget about the SS who were at the death camps. I read a book not to long ago about some of the camps, and how the women SS were just as much butchers and sadistic as the men. What I find interesting is peoples' misconception to a lot of the camps. People seem to think only Jews went to the camps, but many different people went, for many different reasons. Ranging from religion, disabilities, prisoners of war, just about anything really. It's an interesting topic, horrific and so very sad, but an interesting chapter in human history.

Anyway, sorry for bringing the topic up. Let's change the subject to something less depressing.

So, how many games did you all pick up from the sale? And how many managed to stay within your spending limit? :-)

I also love me some potentially offensive humor at times.
*topic changing hugs*
So anyone still waiting for a special bundle to appear?

No bundles for me. It would be nice for some new titles to appear, especially some form a certain person's wishlist. ;-)

Hmmm, I am at X gifted to 0 bought. I won't say how many gifted, but it was a lot. As for the budget, well I went a little over, but that's okay, gifting is fun. :-)

Who doesn't? But with an international community I guess we have to be careful not to cause too much offence. I mean heaven forbid we joke about the Americans. Those guys will sulk over anything. :-)

ddickinson: So, how many games did you all pick up from the sale? And how many managed to stay within your spending limit? :-)
So far I've picked up one game: Battle Realms + Winter of the Wolf, so I'm well within my non-existent spending limit. I've even passed on games that I actually want, while in the past sales I picked up games if I even had a fifty/fifty interest in them.

MY BACKLOG SHALL BE...at least 25%...DEFEATED! (before I spend money on new games).

Well, to be honest most Americans are lovely and know how to take a joke. But some are a little too serious about things. But I guess that could be said about any nation. Just look at the <insert any nation here>. :-)

I think you know who I am talking about. She is a lovely lady who does not get anywhere near as many gifts as she deserves. :-)

That is a nice collection. I have only plated a few of them (about 3, I think), but many have a nice reputation.

That's a good way of looking at it. I often wonder what percentage of people have played more than 50% of their collection.
