moonshineshadow: The course was not that interesting yet, but I need the credits, so there is no way around it. I hope it will improve after lunch break.
At least I managed to have a look at the work my student did just now and that seems good, so one thing less to worry about :D

And also I did something to cheer me up :D
On first August it is the national holiday here (sadly it is a Saturday), but my brother said he would come to visit, so I just now booked a boat trip with a nice dinner for us, because there is always a huge fireworks over the lake and it is really great watching it from a boat :-)

Glad to hear that your student managed to do some good work while you were away. I bet you are relieved about that?

A boating trip sounds lovely. Does he know you have it booked, or is it a surprise? Either way I bet you are both looking forward to that.

Yep really relieved about the work my student did. It went a lot better then I expected :D So he should be able to finish on time and with some good results :-)

And my brother knows about the trip, I asked him when I invited him to come visit me that weekend. It will probably really nice. And there is also always a huge party going on at the lake shore (and while that is not exactly my thing), it should be nice and I know my brother will love it :-)

That's an understatement, I worked tech support for third parties. If something like this had happened at a client, they'd have dragged us out of bed and forced to work on it until it was solved even if we'd been at the middle of a pool party.

It annoys me on a personal level.

Yes - that's right. And they were contacted yesterday. I mean they could have fixed that easily yesterday i think. But it's not the first time such things happened, right? They definitely need to work on that. Maybe the US office will improve the situation.

I'm good. I've just been out doing my river walk for a couple of miles. Nice weather, nice scenery, no marauding barbarians. Although someone was bitten by a horse in one of the fields I pass. He was walking on a public footpath and the horse went for him. I can understand, I'd probably bite a stranger who decided to walk through my living room.
