+1 to this thread. Thanks. It's good to know that something like this exists in GOG.
Good morning / afternoon / evening one and all (except nes who has been hauled off by the blues). We had more rain here, amazing for this time of the year. It really made me smile - and I think I still have my soul!

infinitee8: Amazingly beautiful photos. Thank you for sharing these.
Speaking of people doing things for food from dizzying heights, I once saw a documentary of an indigenous tribe of people where the men scale down cliff walls to steal bird eggs for food. Then they climb back up using only their hands and feet. The tribe has been doing it for thousands of years and the tradition lives on to this day. Watching it is scary, can't imagine how they feel doing it.

Re-activating lurker mode :).
Hi to you - happy that you liked that pics, and that I was able to bring you out of lurker mode, albeit briefly. Hope we see you more often here.
That sounds scary - I am afraid of heights, so the very thought makes me shudder. After so long it's amazing there are any birds left there at all.

+1 for you. :-)

ZenWan: Early morning walk along the cliff boardwalk - a wonderful place to start the day.

Lots of clouds - most unusual for this time of year, but they were lifting fast - seagulls, and one crazy fisherman...

moonshineshadow: These pics are awesome. Thanks for sharing! *extra big hug*
Hello Moon - welcome back, you have been missed. Happy that you liked the pics - I am looking forward to seeing more of yours.
Hope you're sleeping soundly in your own home at last. :-)

+1 for your kindness

Welcome - and +1 for you also.

It is indeed good to have this thread, it makes a pleasant and relaxing change from some of the GOG threads. It's a good place to meet friendly people.

35 left to go, with everything continuing to crawl along.

Ixamyakxim: Well I'm bummed :( My poor little guy injured himself yesterday, seemed a bit "down" last night and by midmorning / early afternoon today won't put pressure on his back leg. And he looks MISERABLE. I have to wait until 8:30AM tomorrow to make him an appointment and I'm trying to "put up a strong face" to keep from adding more stress to the lil' guy but it makes me sick to see him like this. Yes, I think I mentioned before I have an unnatural amount of love for the guy.

I keep telling myself "it's just physical, it's just physical" (I know it isn't anything really scary you know) but still that isn't helping much.
So very sorry to hear about your little guy. Hope you are managing to keep him rested and not hurting too much and that he is sleeping now. I'm sure the vet will make it all better - fingers crossed for you and him

Good morning. =)

I don't think you have to worry about the soul thing. Sounds like you're getting at least a bit of what you want without the need for drastic measures.

Aside from enjoying the rain, how are you doing today?

Good morning - evening - to you. I'm doing ok here, thank you, hand is much better and the cool weather is greatly appreciated.

Glad you are making it through the backlog at last, that is a big relief for you, even if the remaining ones are rather large. It will come to an end soon, in time for the next Insomnia sale, perhaps? ;-)

Glad to hear it. It was sounding like you were repairing the damage without the need of a doctor, was hoping that would continue.

Did the numbers earlier, it's roughly 6 and a half more days of nonstop downloading before it's totally done.
Not a huge wait, it's just made slightly frustrating due to impatience.

An Insomnia sale would be good, but I'd be surprised if another one happened this year. It seems like GOG's looking at it as a niche concept, not something to fully incorporate into a yearly sale rotation.
Guess they're making more money doing sales with increasingly slower paces, if the current format is any indication.
Good morning/day/afternoon/evening everyone *big hugs and waves*

How are you all doing?

That's still a lot of downloading - hope they get that upgraded internet sorted out very soon.

This latest sale doesn't seem to be a very popular format. I'm sure that sales have dwindled to a trickle. Hope they sort out that Gemini issue - there are 2 games in that bundle that I had my eye on, but sadly they are much more expensive if you don't buy the whole bundle - and of course at present the Gemini discount is a big confusion. It's not listed in the discounted games at all. I see that you contacted Judas about it, hope it is fixed today.

I have never been a believer in doctors, I go with the old adage that a doctor can fix in a week what nature would take 7 days to repair (or less). And nature doesn't charge a fortune either. ;-)

Of course it's different if animals need medical care. Reminds me of one of my favourite quotes from Terry Pratchett:

'I think that sick people in Ankh-Morpork generally go to a vet. It's generally a better bet.
There's more pressure on a vet to get it right. People say "it was god's will" when granny dies, but they get angry when they lose a cow.'

Almost time for the cliff walk - hope you sleep well when you sleep.

Hello ElT, happy we have connected for once. I was actually just leaving when I saw your post. I am really happy with the rain, although there hasn't been that much. We are already in a drought situation, and badly need more rain. But I'm happy with what we got, and with the lessening of the extreme heat.

Hope all is well with you, and that you have a very good day. :-D

Yes. It's always quite early for me when you're here. In that case rain is important and i don't mind the rain either and i'm really used to it because we have lots of rain in Hamburg in general :)

I'm fine thank you :).
Good morning everybody - hope you're doing well *hugs and waves*

After having to work this weekend I'm having a day off, so there's some time for lazyness and maybe even for gaming.

Btw, has anyone played Tales of Maj'Eyal? What's it about, how are story and gameplay, and is it any good?

Hi - I'm doing well and looking forward to my day off.

Roguelike means there's no story usually, right (apart from dying infinite final deaths). All driven by mechanics. If that's right, I'm not sure about it - it may be good, but there are some more interesting games out there for me, then.

Yes. But there is a free version of the game if you want to try it out without buying it (because it's an open-source game): http://te4.org/

And good to hear that you're doing well :).
