Where did everybody else go?

gunsynd: Nope wrong again,it's the Mighty Rabbitohs:-)
It's a shallow assumption with absolutely no evidence or personal experience.

But just looking at pictures I get the impression that Rugby players are less human trash, MTV-fodder, than footballers.

Maybe it's the less inflated paychecks?

*waves at twin* Yep, it's causing me some problems with my left shoulder as well. I've already had therapy but most likely I'll just have to live with the fact that it will never completely heal. Thanks, I hope your injury improves as well, these things are never fun.

ElTerprise: That's good. You'll make - i'm sure :)
Hmm....you drink alcohol to sleep better?
Only very occasionally. :P For instance, a few weeks ago on the trip back to the Netherlands from England I was absolutely exhausted, and I always get seasick on boats, so I drank some alcohol in order to put me to sleep more quickly. ;)

They wanted me to do therapy, brace it, etc. Me: "hell with it" and didn't do either. lol

Well, therapy's helped me quite a bit. I did some manual therapy to manipulate my joints, combined with careful exercising (yoga). The yoga helps quite a bit but right now I'm back for a few more sessions with my physical therapist because writing my bachelor's thesis did quite a number on my neck.

The therapy does sound painful as hell though, so my thought was like "eh..."

It's not. I've been to two different therapists. The first did massage, the second manual therapy. The massage tended to kind of hurt, and as it turned out, that approach wasn't actually helping me get better. The manual therapy, on the other hand, is working very well. It doesn't hurt at all when they manipulate your joints if it's done well, you just feel a slightly odd popping sensation. If you've ever popped one of your joints yourself, it's like that. Exercising does hurt sometimes but that's the good kind of hurt telling you you're improving your muscle strength.
This is why I don't try to elicit sympathy for having had cancer. No shit. All I had to do was lay there and watch my eyebrows fall out, which sounds like me being a smartass, but that really was the crux of it. :P

Last summer my dad had his right rotator cuff reattached. The surgery was simple, but the rehab? And people call me brave. BULLSHIT! :D

Definitely could go for a massage.

Thank you both for the ideas, you've given me some things to think over. I can't offer you fine folks royalties for your ideas but I can offer you a free GOG copy of Teenagent, and who wouldn't want that?!

Every illness and injury is different. Doesn't make one worse or better than the other, just different. Cancer naturally requires a different kind of treatment than for instance a neck injury. Defeinitely doesn't mean you're not brave, though. I think everyone dealing with an injury or illness requires some bravery. :)

Massages are definitely nice. They just didn't provide a long term solution for me. :)

shitmonkey2382.313: try dicks ;)
Thanks for your great advice.
