As it turns out, the internet in my area actually is being upgraded. Color me shocked.
Course, it doesn't get upgraded for roughly five weeks. If I'm still downloading this shit in five weeks, I'm going to be ready to kill myself.
But it's still pretty damn good to get some tiny sliver of better infrastructure this far out in the dust.
From what you tell us of the area, sandstorms, wild animals, the ocasional kaiju rampage, I'd imagine they'll prioritize sturdiness over bandwidth. Fortunately current communication technologies increase both.

Okay, I just checked all the parts and the game loaded properly with all characters showing on the select screen after installing the pieces in the order I stated.
1. Base game.
2. Mindgames DLC.
3. Gold Edition upgrade.
4. Gold Edition upgrade patch.
5. Pilgrim DLC.
6. Juggernaut DLC.
7. Necromancer DLC.

How do the individual deals work? There's new deals every 12 hours, but how do I know which ones are new and how long each one has left? And it just updated with new sales, but I don't see any new games there...

Now they're hitting the ones that are on my wishlist as 'replacements for those games I have on Steam'.... *sigh* At least those are also all firmly on a 'wait until I have more money to spare' list.
On a different note, I'd forgotten how beautiful the cinematography is in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. It's a lovely homage to the old pulp stories.

I think Bloodrayne was ahead of its time.
And by that I mean that it came out too early for a game that bases much of its appeal on its protagonist delivering sexy eye candy.
That low polygon count... ugh!
