CarrionCrow: Well, I just got some interesting info.

As it turns out, the internet in my area actually is being upgraded. Color me shocked.
Course, it doesn't get upgraded for roughly five weeks. If I'm still downloading this shit in five weeks, I'm going to be ready to kill myself.
But it's still pretty damn good to get some tiny sliver of better infrastructure this far out in the dust.
And there was much rejoicing.

From what you tell us of the area, sandstorms, wild animals, the ocasional kaiju rampage, I'd imagine they'll prioritize sturdiness over bandwidth. Fortunately current communication technologies increase both.

Okay, I just checked all the parts and the game loaded properly with all characters showing on the select screen after installing the pieces in the order I stated.

1. Base game.
2. Mindgames DLC.
3. Gold Edition upgrade.
4. Gold Edition upgrade patch.
5. Pilgrim DLC.
6. Juggernaut DLC.
7. Necromancer DLC.

Hope that's good news, and not Good News™. :-)
Time to check the front page, empty the dishwasher and then peek in on dog. He's letting out a few mournful "wow wow woooows" (sort of like the voice on the Charlie Brown intercom, but with more of an "O" than a "waah").

LOL nevermind I was too slow, he came to find me instead!
How do the individual deals work? There's new deals every 12 hours, but how do I know which ones are new and how long each one has left? And it just updated with new sales, but I don't see any new games there...

j0ekerr: Well, I'm letting go of a couple of things. I'm exercising patience, self-control, discipline... and experiencing a severe case of... "my backlog is HOW LONG?!!"
That's summer\winter sales for you.
I have developed an infallible purchase decision making process.

I look at the sales then I look down below my waist.
If I don't see a boner, no sale.

Nope, nothing tonight.

I did buy outlast, that should tell you everything you need to know.

The top ones are the ones that just came up, they'll have 24 hours to go.
There is a tab "ENDING SOON" above the the deals, that will show just the ones with only 12 hours left.
Now they're hitting the ones that are on my wishlist as 'replacements for those games I have on Steam'.... *sigh* At least those are also all firmly on a 'wait until I have more money to spare' list.

On a different note, I'd forgotten how beautiful the cinematography is in Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow. It's a lovely homage to the old pulp stories.

Is it on Netflix?Wait a minute...
I think Bloodrayne was ahead of its time.

And by that I mean that it came out too early for a game that bases much of its appeal on its protagonist delivering sexy eye candy.

That low polygon count... ugh!

Appreciate your effort. I'd probably end up stamping on this bastard if I'd loaded it all and it just hummed like a fucked TV ;-)

EDIT: Excuse me any ladies who might be browsing the forum.

That's funny, I just removed several from my wishlist and now 3 of them popped up. :-)
That is a great movie, I've watched it many times.

I copied this info to a text file and I'll add it to my workaround archive. It is where I store several pieces of information about some of the games I own. Things like web links, patches and updates, some mods, etc.
