No point, I already know this place sucks rancid ass in terms of weather. The worst of all worlds at all times.

Stilton: I've been caught out by that kind of thing. It usually results in me chucking everything up in the air and going for a walk, then when I'm less pissed off sorting it out from the beginning. I'm male and eat raw meat, I can't multi-task

CarrionCrow: Eventually it'll stabilize, since I'm going to run out of money sooner or later.

One thing I'm noticing is that I'm starting to get annoyed at independent point and click adventures that run 30 dollars retail for deluxe editions.
Feels so ridiculous when my library already has some of the best of all time in that genre.
I've wondered what it would be like to whittle a game collection down to the best five or so examples in each category and add new titles only when one of the five is bettered, chucking its predecessor in the process. But appetite and fun kill that approach before it even starts. Could I be happy with only the best five in a particular category? Given there are a lot of categories and I'd have a large number of games at my disposal, there would still be the feeling that I was missing something somewhere. And then there's the simple enjoyment of playing a piece of crap every now and then. And of course I'd have to test all of the new games to see if they were good enough to include in each top five. Which makes this post completely pointless because I've gone in a complete circle. What am I babbling about...

Good day!

tinyE: All my English friends, do they make a big too do with June 6th over there like they do here? Just curious. It's always perceived by us shallow Americans as a U.S. thing which is pretty fucked up.
Not really, we do mark the day, and there will be some ceremonies no doubt, and some special programs about it, but we tend not to get all worked up over it like the US does. I mean no offence, but America seems to act like they won the war single handed, so I am not surprised they would perceive the day as an American thing, rather than an Allied thing. The allies might not have won without the US, that is true, but the same can also be said about Russia, England, the British Empire, and many other allied nations. It was a joint war, a world war, it involved many nations, and many nations together won the day, without several of the key nations things might have been different. The war was not won by any one nation alone, no matter how they like to think that's how it happened.

Hmm. Looks like you were trying to think of a way to find the best of the best, only to notice on the fly that the process would ultimately make everything less enjoyable, and probably wouldn't work to begin with, since enjoyment is subjective to a quicksilver-like degree of fluidity, so much so that it can change as rapidly as a mood or a moment.

I thought you liked Chaos, they are just coming to pay a fellow heretic a visit. Perhaps the evil Empress Owl sent them. :-)

Chaos has no loyalties. They kill each other just as readily as they do an enemy. What can you expect from a bunch of traitors. :-)

Not answering. *puts on anti ninja-gifting armor* :P

Wow, you said all that in one breath. The Hmm is probably an inhalation ;-)

That'll be fun, I have 95 games od Desura and only 20 or so downloaded. :/

ZenWan: ... I keep hearing about Arx Fatalis, it has acquired mythical status. Imagine if they really did discount it one day, there would be practically nobody left to take advantage of it. ;-)

Hi to anyone who's reading, hope all is well with you and yours.

Baking hot here, 34C - 93F and no air-conditioning, just fans. It doesn't even cool down at night, or at least not much.
I hate summer!
avatar
GhostwriterDoF: Greetings, oh sweltering one! :)

It must be humid there too, so that makes the heat even more unbearable, and sticky.

Arx Fatalis is one of those games that was innovative for its time, but may press the line between fun and angst in the gameplay action for its mechanics. I still haven't bought it for myself yet, but recall hazy memories of playing it back in the day.
How are you, Ghost, good to see you. :-D

We are lucky that it's not too humid, very high humidity would finish me off. The heat is bad enough.
We're close to the sea, so we do sometimes get some cooling sea breezes, which helps, but other times the hot winds blow up from Africa or over from Spain, and that doesn't help one bit.

Don't know the game at all, except for the fact that everybody seems to talk about it when a sale comes around. I'm sure that some people just bought it for that reason.

To be honest, it was probably me lighting a cigarette. I guess that counts, sorta. -laughs-
