AgentBirdnest: Indeed. I wonder why this game in particular gets all that front page ad space... *shrug*
Because the hype train is behind it :P I'm actually really looking forward to it myself. The dev's previous game Contrast was pretty decent, only let down by a checkpoint only save system and occasionally finicky controls. The writing, art direction, atmosphere, tone and mood were all on point in Contrast and I'd like to think that they could continue to keep that stuff on the upper end of the good scale. If all that stuff ends up taking a big step back then at least we have a visually striking and unique setting survival horror game, which that alone makes it highly visible when compared to the usual tropes.
Let's not forget that most of these "survival" games are set in either a post apocalyptic world, a lost island, a uninhibited forest, a combination of the above or just a plain dungeon, usually with grim and dark art styles.
