Quick question for anyone who has played Dragon Age Origin. Well, two questions.

1. How easy is the play, not as in difficulty of the monsters and things of that nature, but as in the ability to learn how it plays, how the combat works and things like that?

2. Is it a lot of reading text of a screen, or is there a lot of voice acting in there as well?

afternoons... sorry to hear about what happened.
Kinda wish they'd do something smart with tech and army and really find the losers who do this...

How are you?
Guten Tag! :)
Yep, arrived home yesterday afternoon... been sleeping and resting mostly since :)
My wife has taken like three naps today. And she is sleeping again. It's going to be a record napping day :)
Are you still busy or is it holiday already?

Well that's pretty understandable - guess you're having a really lovely jet lag - hope that it'll go away soon :)
Lectures are over but i have an exam next week :)

CarrionCrow: Allergies...always miserable crap to deal with.

I've beaten Dragon Age and Dead Space, neither one is a bad game.
Course, you'll get more hours out of Dragon Age given how big it is, but Dead Space is a good horror action kind of thing.
Alright, now it went from 95% to 99% certainty that I'll buy the dragon game!
That and a few edible scorpions and I think my budget is gone for the rest of the month...
Any plans for the weekend?

Can't complain here. Got some sleep, now I'm trying to take another chunk out of Arkham City.
(I hate collectibles. ;) )

It's looking like things'll be normal. Do some stuff around the house, play some games, that's about it.

Good to hear - so you're done with the story? What about NG+? ;)
No shit! ;)
But generally same here - i'm only missing the tedious stuff in Mad Max and i'm not really motivated to clear all that...

I'm wiping out what I can in between doing story bits. Still have something like 280 to go.

-laughs- Yeah...you'd have to be insane not to by the time you're done with all that crap.

Don't blame you a bit there. All the collectibles feel tedious, but I'm slogging through them anyway. It's not fun.
At least you're not pissing away your time doing the same shit I am. ;)

Far Cry 2 has 221 briefcases with diamonds inside scattered throughout the massive world :-)

At least it gives you xp for doing that iirc...

Yup..it's just a method of keeping people busy...and i especially hate clearing the minefields (it's the only threat-relevant stuff left) - it requires you to use a buggy which means you can only defend yourself with a shotgun and you cannot fast travel....urgh....

Arkham City's got 440 listed, but some of those are things like destroying a set number of objects, so it's probably closer to 480-500 things in total. (Math's not working well at the moment, so I'm estimating.)
Good morning everyone!
Hope you're all doing well and the weekend is shaping up
to be a crowning end to a good week for you. :)

I woke up late in the morning and am still cleaning the cob-webs
out of my brain pan. Otherwise all is well for me here.

<big waves and silly hugs for everyone>

Yes, you do. That does help the slog initially. But I'm going to have everything fully upgraded soon, so XP isn't going to matter anymore.

-laughs- Busywork is what so many open-world games depend on...

The gameplay is easy to learn if you aren't familiar with the type of action...

There is a lot of voice acting and very little dialog reading if I remember correctly.

It's been years since I played the game, but I liked it so much, I played through it at least
two more times after my first playthrough. It's one of the few games I used a mage as my
main character. The DLCs were shorter campaigns than the main game but were harder
gameplay.

DA Origins was one of the most memorable gaming experiences I have played... :D

<big squishy non-feather ruffling hug>

There is always hope, it rests in the hearts of the People,
and is carried by action when the necessity arises...
