How is your time of day going?

So far, so good here. Saw my new work schedule, have two clopens (working the night shift and then the morning shift the next day) this week, one of which will see me clopening to start a period where I work around 26 hours over the span of three days. Fun times...but work is work :P

Still in Fallout 1...goodbye Gizmo. I know it's supposedly the "best" build for the game, but the gunslinger diplomat really is such a fun build. What a fun game, well deserving of its legendary status.

and I just finished the Batman 1943 serials. Long story short, what a slog this was. A few chapters were entertaining but I spent a good deal of time wondering why I was still watching the serial as a whole. The age of them wasn't a problem, I can deal with the occasionally subpar audio and graphical fidelity of that era, the big issue was just how repetitive they were.

Nearly every chapter ended with a "Is Batman Dead and Can Robin Save The Day?!" scenario, and Batman and Robin are both apparent owners of glass jaws. I didn't take an official tally but I'm fairly certain they lost all but maybe two fights over the course of the 15 chapters, which figuring there was at least one, usually two, fights in each chapter...well you get the idea.

The writing generally wasn't very good, the plot was recycled constantly and the characters were more or less simply uninteresting. In fact, the most likeable character was someone that lasted (I think) two chapters. There was a lot of wartime propaganda featured, included pretty clear racism (especially in the last chapter), to the point of a positive remark about internment camps being made in the very first chapter, so yeah...that definitely gets a thumbs down from me.

It had more of the "old" style Batman, in that there was death a plenty to be found, although it was mostly implied rather than outright shone. From my loose estimate, there were at least eight deaths, with Batman being directly involved in several of them.

There were only a few "classic" characters to be found, including Batman, Robin and Linda Page. Wait, I think that's all of them...ha.

All in all, there were a few chapters that I really enjoyed but all in all I didn't enjoy it all that much. If it didn't have the Batman IP I probably would've stopped watching just a few chapters in, and maybe I should have anyway.
