akhliber: Easily the textbook definition of fun. Yeesh, that sucks, especially on a day like today (if it's anywhere near as hot where you are as it is here, anyway.) I hope you were able to find a new one! And maybe some bags of ice to go along with it. ;)
Yep. Having to run to Walmart before 8 am is just about that to a tee. ;)

It's not doable in here. (Well, it is, because I'm dumb enough to keep sitting in here when any sane person would leave, but still.) Already have plenty of ice, about 40 pounds worth at the moment.

CarrionCrow: Oh yeah. Wasn't going to leave the store without one.

You're silly. =) -laughs-
Well done !...
and no, I'm pretty serious !! >:-|

akhliber: *big return hug*
I hope you're enjoying your day! :)
I will, once I get back home :-P
In... a bit less than an hour. Nice.
How are you ? :)

Empress_Owl: Decently... and you ? :)

CarrionCrow: Nothing says fun like a mad dash to the store when your fan finally gives up and dies...
avatar
Empress_Owl: **Big cooling hugs** sorry for your loss, Crow... did you find another fan ? :-)
if not, I'd be happy to be your #1 fan ! n__n
I am doing pretty well thank you. :) *hugs and pets owl*

That's very kind of you to say, Owl lady. =)

Oh nice! Glad you will get to head home soon. I'm doing quite well, though it's hellish outside so I'm trying to keep the monster busy indoors as much as possible. We're about to have another dance party, and I'm hoping maybe soon after I'll have him exhausted enough to nap, at which point I suspect I'll get back to some Dark Souls. Because, you know, Dark Souls is so... relaxing? haha. I can never really make an argument for my own logic. I just have to roll with it. ;)

Oh gods, I didn't even realize Walmart was involved. That's like a nice, potent "fun concentrate."

I've been getting Sarge ice from the fridge so much lately that he's learned to at least *try* to operate the ice machine himself. The lever on the door's a bit stubborn, so he's not quite getting it, but he clearly gets how it works, and it's pretty adorable. Plus, nice and easy way to let me know he wants more ice.
Which, today, is like every 10 minutes. ;)

My day is going... ok. Now I'm going to drive back home, which is generally good news :->

I'm happy we don't have hellish temperatures here as you all seem to have in America :-) ... heehee !
Have a nice dance party !! ^^ i hope your strategy will work, and that you'll be able to enjoy your game... (Dark Souls ?... relaxing ?... lol !) ^^

Have a nice evening, everybody :)

It's the only real store around here. Options are not so much limited as nonexistent.

-laughs- Sounds like the cats here. They know how to open doors, but still get a little confused when it comes to applying enough force that they don't swing shut again.

Ugh...sounds like the puppy is melting. It's good you're looking out for them so they don't overheat.

Anyone here played Celestian Tales: Old North? It looks very enjoyable but the ratings are pretty bad.

That's one I don't have. Maybe it was the artwork, but I never latched onto it for some reason.

Holy crap. With my social anxiety issues, if Walmart was the only store in town, I'd basically have to learn to become self-sufficient and "live off the grid." Not sure I could make a regular thing of that.

We just had another (brief) basking session outside, and now he's tearing apart a bowl of ice. It cracks me up though, he gets all pissy if I put a piece of ice in his water. I get that he doesn't understand that they're one and the same, but it just makes me laugh every time I forget and think I'm "doing him a favor" cooling his water down. :)

I backed it on Kickstarter, but I have to admit I only played about 4 hours into the game before I got distracted away from it by Witcher 3 or some such. I do plan to get back to it, sooner rather than later now that the dlc hit, I suppose, but I recall really appreciating the art in the game and thinking the characters were well-drawn, if not completely well-written... didn't strike me as bad writing, just as "expected rpg fare," I suppose. From what I recall, the combat is basically similar to old-school Final Fantasy games, turn-based with choices like "attack," "item" and "special/magic" or some such.
I got the impression I'll really enjoy it, personally. The fact that I abandoned it temporarily doesn't speak for the quality of the game, just for the fact that I'm terribly finicky, and realized it wasn't the right time for that one. It doesn't get the best reviews, so maybe try something like the Ys games or Trails in the Sky first if you want a jrpg experience, but quite honestly, the fact that Celestian Tales is somewhat short (and caters to multiple play-throughs as different characters) really appealed to me.

I know the feeling. It's been blunted a bit by having to do it. No other options, so I have to bite the bullet.

-laughs- Silly dog. That's funny.
Nothing quite that amusing here. One of the cats like to drag the bowl around the kitchen as she scoops out the water and licks it off her paw. I think she tried to take a drink once, screwed up, got her face all wet, and it's haunted her ever since.
What does it say about me that my friends think my perfect birthday present is a complete box set of He-Man, She-Ra and Bravestarr? Let's disregard the fact that I'm really happy about that for a moment.^^

That's a hell of a birthday present! I still wish I hadn't sold all my He-Man toys I had as a kid. I'd just have yard sales like nobody's business to purge old toys and make room for new ones. Nothing survived very long. ;)

I will say that I appreciate the fact that life comes with "survival mode," where you can find things that were once intolerable, once no longer optional, just a mere inconvenience. It's almost like an application of the thoughts behind "immersion therapy" applied to Real Life As It Is, and as miserable as that process can be, the resulting "tougher skin" can come in quite handy. I have something similar in very, very specific, applied situations... nothing as ambitious as going to Walmart, though. ;)

When we first brought Sarge home, he was just 4 weeks old and quite sick... one of the most endearing parts of nursing him in the early days was the struggle to get him to drink water. He needed water desperately, but when he'd try to drink from a bowl, he'd just dunk his face in it, and it would scare the crap out of him. I thought for a while he had sight problems, but it got better with time. I was quite surprised though when I did see him finally start drinking water from a bowl... it was like he'd gotten over a fear of falling, of flight or some such. Big steps! haha
