ddickinson: I am sure the game is lovely, but I am not the biggest fan of rogue-lite games. I like the look of some of the rogue-lite games, but often the general mechanics of such games are just not really for me. FLT seems to be one of the exceptions to that. I will probably give rogue-lites a proper try some day, but at the moment despite some looking nice, I think I will pass on them for now.

I had a look at the other games you mentioned. And naughty, Mr Crow. Stop playing those anime eye candy games :-). I will never get why the art style gives them such giant boobs. Don't get me wrong, who doesn't like boobs, but still, the anime style goes a little too far, and some of those outfits just would not work with those boobs, but I guess anime boobs do not obey the laws of gravity :-). Although one thing I do like about those games is the lovely outfits, even if they look a little impractical. When I was playing Huniepop I ended up liking the outfits more than much of the game. :-)
Understandable. I don't play huge amounts of those types of games either.

-laughs- It works as a change of pace, if nothing else. I'd rather play an eye candy game than yet another pile of crap. ;)

I know, I was only being silly. I know those Sakura games are quite popular. At at least they are up front about what their games are, quite a few try to pretend to be something deeper than what they really are.

It starts off with Batman Arkham combat, then adds a bunch of new things to it, expands the world, gives the player more things to do, then tops it off with the Nemesis system of mini-bosses for you to find information on, learning their weaknesses, then killing them off.

I tried one of their visual novel-type games. It was very basic, no choices, nothing of any great appeal.
Wouldn't see myself buying another one, whether it's on sale or not.

Thinking Panzermadels will end up being better. I'll take silly over boring any day.

But at least you tried one. I don't get the fascination with visual novels myself, but I know they are popular, and they are not all just crappy anime porn.

Is that the one where you were all supposed to be tanks dating, but in fact they are just anime girls again?

That is the hierarchy of mini-bosses you encounter in the game.
They will remember you after you get killed by them, they become more powerful when they kill you.
They also fight with each other, leaving the victorious enemy to get that much stronger.
To have better odds of killing them, you can interrogate basic enemies to get more info on the captains, which in turn you use to defeat and interrogate the captains to get more info on enemies that are higher ranked.

Some are better, some are worse. Much, much worse. Not a lot of experience, but I did like Danganronpa 1 and 2 overall, despite the absurdity and padding.

Yes, that's the one. That struck me as utterly silly, so I had to get it.

ô__ô ! Wow. That sounds pretty detailed. Much more complicated than the usual "see enemy, slash it" gameplay that I'm used to :-p
Anyway, it looks cool. I may have to keep a post-upgrade eye on it ;-)

Not only that, but there's a big incentive to hunt down the mini-bosses, since you get the power resource for doing so.
The power resource is what unlocks higher level abilities, which you then buy when you get enough XP to level up.

Yes, that's the one. That struck me as utterly silly, so I had to get it.
I remember you talking about the Danganronpa and how you were liking them. I only heard about the tank one as some people were talking about it and how they were expecting tanks, or at least tank-human hybrids of some sort. They did mention it had some nice historical facts mixed up in the game about the different kind of tanks they feature, which sounded like a nice touch.
