ElTerprise: Yes...that is indeed a great thing and in case that's not possible i'd love to see that Remasters would include the original nonetheless...
I'm fine with a remaster when it makes the game in question available digitally and makes it run on modern OSs, support modern resolutions (at least an HD 4:3 if the original aspect ratio has to be maintained) and offer a convenient control scheme if the original feels awkward by modern standards (that said best thing would be to retain the old one as an alternative) . But i have problems with "Remasters" which are merely a few years and they get an overhaul which could've been achieved by a patch....and not even bothering to fix remaining bugs...looking at you Skyrim >:|
Offering the original game is a nice bonus and i'd love to see that most if not all remasters would offer the possibility to play the original games one way or the other...
Agree with everything. One
huge point I'd add, is that I really wish the originals could be bought separately from the remastered edition. I guess it makes sense from a business/marketing/whatever perspective, but I still think it's kind of dickish to force people to buy the more expensive remaster if they only want the classic.
I do kinda wish some older FPS games could get a fully-3D remaster/remake, because they are so dated and difficult to control, but I doubt it could be done without it being massively plucked up :-p I'm sure I'd hate it, if it were to actually happen.
On the flipside, I kinda wish that 3D adventure games could be demastered :-) Maybe I could get into Gray Matter a bit more easily if there were a pixelized version. (Did I mention that I love pixels? ♥__♥)
